The substrate definitely liked the 16 oz of water, but it was still very dry the next day. I am going to submerge the entire substrate in water for 12 hours, however I am forced to wait because I had to leave over 100 grams still growing in the tub that isn't done yet

Well there are a lot of opinions on the subject on the Shroomery and elsewhere on the internet. I actually love the look of spores on the substrate, and my tub has a yin yang thang going on You will see a lot of threads debating the subject, however you will read post after post of users having almost black substrate and still getting 4 flushes from their tub, with the pins growing right out of the spores. Some people don't like the taste of shrooms with spores on them, I really can't tell a difference, and most people I know eat shrooms with chocolate or peanut butter anyway.

Generally my preference is for the first flush or two I'll get em before the caps open up fully, but with later flushes I let them open up completely but always shoot to get em right before the spores drop. Also in my experience when you let the caps open up fully you get more weight

Unfortunately I don't live with my tubs so I don't always have access to them in order to harvest exactly when I want to.

The first flush of mushrooms totaled 1,352.1 grams wet, I bought a dehydrator a few days ago and put all of the already dried mushrooms into there just for one more spin.

Our total dry weight so far is 6.35 ounces, or 177.8 grams

Yeah they are massive. They dried to 5.1g and 6.8g

I am trying to decide if I am going to split the 6.8g shroom into doses or eat the whole mushroom. Last night I picked these aborts and stumps (total wet weight was 28.7 grams). I also submerged the entire substrate again for 2 hours or so after harvest. I made another tub last night too
