The shoulder at the mouth of the glass vial is really nice. The narrow opening also helps keep contams out. They're also way more durable and more compact.

Yea I use discount vials too and now I think I'll probably stick with them after that rant, eno.

Need to get a few of those ear curretts like you have for digging out the culture from the narrow depths of these tubes though.

Got some SFDs and some tubes, they are quiet large, but they were cheap and they sent 2x what I ordered. May work well for masters, I'll give them a shot.

Finally made it to the feed store I never get to make it to. I picked up a few syringes just because. They came in these spiffy plastic tube  w/cap. It holds the needle cap on. Pretty sturdy too. These are new to me and I've had syringes get crushed by the post in transit.

The feed store owner was cool. Would order whatever grain I wanted.

It's nice having some local connections like that. I have to order pretty much everything where I live now. I got a few little odds and ends today
Paid 20$ for around 12 pounds of 'ole Bob's rye berries but free shipping, a bigger strainer for grain, a new fancy pants thermometer for pasteurization purposes and some more PP5's.  Also some more verm and jiffy mix.

Dude, those strainers are a life saver...hard to do WBS without them...and they adjust to fit in my sink... That was a smart purchase my friend:strokebeard2:

I own two of those strainers. They hold about 6 quarts of hydrated grain a piece. Definitely worth the money.

Those are nice strainers dudes but mine hold 5 quarts of fully hydrated grains.  They come from a store called the "Dollar Tree" and cost 1 dollar a piece.

Nice! I am at work right now and there is a Dollar Tree within walking distance, I may see if they have any. Will probably grab another Oneida too though, I do a lot of cooking too and like how they expand to fit over the sink. Either one is a big improvement over what I have used in the past.

Unless rye berries produced four times as fast and grew mushrooms the size of house cats, I could not justify the price difference over oats or WBS.
