What methodology do you think works best: pure logic, superstition, signs and omens, telepathy, telekinesis or prayer?

People frequently fight over the seat of a big winner who has just left the table.

Others ask for a deck change when they feel that the cards are "running cold" as if the past random sequence has any bearing whatsoever on the future.

Some people like to "play their rush". This means that they will play inferior cards merely because they won a couple of pots in a row and expect it to continue.

Others pray that their desired card comes.

Some get spooked when a card or chip falls a certain way.

A few bring talismans to the table for "luck".

Guess how I do against all of these metaphysical permutations?

My point is simply this: the real-world is the ultimate laboratory and none of these fringe ideas have ANY BEARING WHATSOEVER on the outcome. (Just like most other topics that are discussed here.)

Damn, dude, I imagine it is quite the experience, being able to sit back in Las Vegas and get quite the view of life like that, people trying to make it rich in games of chance....

Myself, I'm not a gambling man.... Robert Redford I am certainly not.
Peace.

Best poker methodology shouldn't remain luck, superstition or any paranormal activity.

I would say pure logic when it's time to learn the probability table of cards and a very good sense of observation of others. In friendly poker games, most players shows a lot of non verbal signs that with experience will let you know most of the times what kind of hand the other is trying to hide.

Finally, you must play yours hands in a way no one can guess what you have. Keep a poker face showing no emotion or ticks and vary your style of playing using a mix of calculated bluffs, sandbags, etc.

Cheating is also pretty effective, haha

I truly believe that some people are gifted with telekinesis or telephathy but I also truly believe that God won't allow someone to use his gift to get rich.

.fs.

Something I notice lately that works for me, which you might try, is taking all your clothes off and doing a 60-second jig on the poker table. I swear it works!

*Swami looks down at beer gut and man-boobs*

Hmmm, not sure if that would work for me. It is funny though that the poker world is about 95% men and when a woman enters a game the whole table dynamic changes noticably. Some guys get "chivalrous" and take it easy on the little lady or under-estimate them. A cute china doll raked the boyz out of some $400 last night.

Me, I treat 'em all the same. If you jumped up and down nekked, I would take a video of you, then take all of your chips!

I love it when guys underestimate me or treat me like a "little lady". When they underestimate me, I beat 'em. When they treat me like a little lady, um, I say not-very-nice-things to them. 'Course, it sometimes gets me into trouble, because they love to run to the judge and tell on me.

Example #1: An attorney said some stupid schitt to me, and ended it with "sweetheart". So I said some stupid schitt to him, and ended it with "asshole". When we went into court, he told the judge on me (what a child). I told the judge we were even, since he called me "sweetheart", and the judge agreed.

Example #2: Another attorney said some stupid schitt to me, and ended it with "honey". I told him that the next time he called me "honey", I would rip his balls off and shove them down his throat. Sigh. Okay, that wasn't nice of me to say that, but you gotta play the game. (Don't read this trendal, or ped.) This attorney didn't tell on me because we had a woman judge. (hehe)

Okay, you can have your thread back, Swami.
