Papayas Fish,and Psychoactive Toads,Oh My!

Hey my fellow garden brethren, how goes it? Sorry I haven't been around in a while, but this move to Florida broke me,and I still haven't found a job yet,so no internet access.
Anyway, life is really good here, and I thought I'd show you guys a few of my plants and things
First of all,you guys remember all my mishaps with my beloved Lophophora alberto-vojtechii? Well, after loosing the main head, and his pup,I had to rely on it's roots, and I even had a slug eat the middle out of it! Well,it still survived, and has four new pups protruding There are a couple of babies I started from seed in the pic too.

Various Trichs, and a dragon fruit seedling.

This one is for ferrel, and I repoted it since this pic was taken.

My Papaya the previous renter left!

Various.

A Psychoactive Toad

A few smaller fish I caught, and I've since caught some monsters!

Hope you guys enjoyed, and I'll post more pics from the sunshine state in the near future!

Yes man,I'll make it Oh,and this isn't even half of my plants!!!
I also never intended on doing anything with that toad but admiring it's beauty. I don't consume psychoactive substances anyway, and I haven't in over a decade. I just thought you guys would like to actually see one, that's all
I also have been catching huge Alligator Gar, Bowfin,Shellcracker, and Bass, but it's always when I don't have the camera. I promise some monster catches next time I go
As for the citrus goes,I have not seen a single tree around here yet

Killing it with the fish.
You are lucky to be in such a tropical place and my moringa is falling over with pods. I will probably send out seed in some weeks time.

I like the way you just roll in here the with all your fish pictures and a fuckin' trippy toad after being AWOL. This one is a pretty fish too:
That AV of yours is probably more of a fighter than those puny fish too.

Hi, k. Are you sure about this one? 'Cause it looks to me suspiciously like a B. maritimus and not B. alvarius...

Even so, isn't maritimus still psychoactive (or produce psychoactive toxin, I should say)?
Quote:
There are two American toads which produce the toxin in quantity: Bufo maritimus, the cane toad, and Bufo alvarius, the Colorado River toad.

Yes, I read that. But the rest of the paragraph reads "The only other problem is that it’s supposedly nearly impossible to get high from orally ingesting bufotenin (while it’s very possible to kill yourself). The only proven psychoactive agent in toads is 5-MeO-DMT, a tryptamine compound only produced in the skin of Bufo alvarius."
So, yes, it is psychoactive. But... Mind you, it's a pity. If it was otherwise, our aussie friends probably wouldn't have a problem with the introduced cane toad...

You know, I read that paragraph like 3 times and for some reason, I still didn't pick up on that...

hmm..its actually produced in the skin? I learned poison dart frogs are only poisonous due to compounds they ingest in a certain species of insect they eat. I assumed the trip toads were similar.

Yes, apparently it's an actual secretion of the paratoid glands (or skin, it's not too clear) of Bufo alvarius. Poison dart frog's poison runs in the food chain and kind of "oozes" from their skin: the frogs loose it in captivity.

I'm pretty sure the toads have a gland located kinda right behind their 'ear' (or where their ears would be).

Yea you pick them up and lay them over a piece of glass and squeeze the glands. It will shoot a beige goo on the plate and you let it dry. Then you have powdered 5-meo-dmt after you scrape it off.
