Ok I've looked EVERYEHERE for a Colorado River toad. I was wondering if any of you know of any reptile or amphibian vendors that sell Colorado River toads. Besides Diamond Reptiles of course.

I don't know about any place that sells them, but I know a business that sells one of the active psychoactives, 5-MeO-DMT. You can order it at http://nepenthes.lycaeum.org/Commerce/jlf.html. It is supposedly legal as far as federal laws goes. I'm not sure about the state laws and erowid wasn't that helpful. If anyone knows about the legality of bufo alvarius in Texas, please let me know. It is also legal to simply own the toad, just not the bufotonin.

I gave you guys a bad site, sorry. Go to http://webcatalog.cybersun.com/scripts/webcatalog.dll/Products?JLF~101033137~1~115. I think this is worth going to if N-Acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine is 5-MeO-DMT. I know nothing of chemistry, so If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.

Please don't try to purchase RC's either! Unless you want to get arrested and locked away! These thing are under alot of scrutiny by the Jackbooted thugs at the DEA & FBI! There have been busts of dealers recently and some customers have been harassed! Go ahead if you like the Jackboots knockin' at your door!!!

Extracting the venom from these toads is not all that easy.

I tried it once with a pair of rubber gloves on and a glass microscope slide to catch the venom.

Well the toad didnt want to stay still and when toads get nervous they urinate. So i set him down... Eventually i got only a bit of the venom from the gland and when it dried, there was not really much left behind.

It's an art I am sure and I just think that the novelty of it would be awsome. I wonder if there are things one can do to increase venom secretion.

what is a "mimosa hostilis rootbark fly"?

too tired to look up the care stuf fi have, but check these links out for resources. will require some digging.

www.kingsnake.com
www.biologicaldiversity.org/swcbd/
www.reptileforums.com
www.ssnakess.com

from those sites you should be able to find anything needed. also be warry of internet "Caresheets". a lot are written by kids who have kept the named animals for a year or 2 and think they are a pro at herpetology. i avoid any free host sites, unles si know the person to be reputable (in which case phoning or e-mailing is the best bet for answers).

Plants are way less trouble and one would find them more productive than toads.

Mine are gone, I can get a few more.
PM me, only if you are serious.
Last time I posted about them I answered around 100 pm's for people that had no real intrest in buying.
They are not cheap. $125.00 for a med. to large toad, is the best I could do right now.

Thank you, Ookla.
I had a lot of people BITCH to me about the price I was asking. I set out to sell them at the best price possible. I searched the net for days before I set my price.
If I could, I would give them away, but I spent a good bit of money and a couple of years trying to get them to breed. I would like to recoup some of the expence so that I can invest in other projects.
I can get two more adults. They may both be males. I also have a few yearlings I may be willing to part with.
They are not expensive to keep. Crickets and small mice are cheap. I spend less then a dollar a week per animal, for food.
If they are to be pets they can be kept at room temp. year-round.

I agree with the others, it is a responsibility that easily gets old after going to the pet store for food a few times a week and changing the water every few days.. especially when you would rather be shroomin or tokin up. I purchased a toad from BBB about a year ago..here is a recent picture
Also keep in mind that if you ever plan on going out of town you will need a friend to care for it, or you will have to find a place that will board it for you.
The problem with the research chemicals mentioned earlier in the thread aside from the possible scrutiny by big brother for purchasing them, is the size of the effective dose (very small). You may have problems finding a scale that will measure 6-10mg. Using too much is supposed to be far from pleasant. You could dissolve the chemical and soak a larger known amount of smokable product that would make measuring your dose easier.
The toad venom is a more diluted source of 5Meo-DMT some references say to smoke a piece about the size of a match stick (no scale needed). A great place to go for more information: Milking instructions, Care sheets .etc is http://www.bufoalvarius.org/
These things can live for 15 years by the way so be very sure that you really want it. I tried to milk mine once, but was afraid of injuring him and quit before I was successful. I purchased a small quantity of the research chemical but after reading through the many trip reports and after having a Salvia trip that sent me on the proverbial rocket ship into outer space I pussed out and gave it away to a friend.
It is pretty cool to watch this thing take down a baby Rat though if you are lucky enough to find a store that sells live baby rodents :-)

Also The care sheet calls for a 20 Gal Aquarium, I would recommend a 29 or 30 Gallon. It has the same footprint but has higher walls. My toad was easily able to jump up into the screen top of a 20 gallon, especially with the log to hide under in his tank. I would often walk into the room and see him sitting on top of the log and trying to jump out. He sustained some injuries to his snout, but after treating with some betadine and peroxide he healed up nicely. If you use a 29 Gallon tank you should not have this problem.
I would also recommend a good terrarium/amphibian care book in addition to the care sheet you will find on the site in my previous post. I think I saw two of these toads on display in the Stanley Park Aquarium Vancouver, BC

care sheets always list 10-30 gals for EVERYTHING it seems. thats why i fuckign HATE caresheets. written by pet stores and 12 year olds. theres good info on the net, but there is way more shitty info. anyway im sure a 20-30 gal is fine for these toads as they arent monsters...although more is obviously better. i jsut had to bitch about caresheets. i hate the majority of them. best thing i find if people are jsut starting out, read up everything and get it debunked in a few different forums.

Get the toad for novelty's sake. The active in this, 5meo-dmt is not very psychedellic. By that I mean there will be no machine elves, alternate reality, hardcore visual shit. 5meo is basically high energy, almost no visual. It will not take you to that other world. At least not easily. I bought a half gram of this stuff, and it's basically trippy crack. Freebase fun, but not mind blowing like the Dmt stories. So 5Meo-DMT is NOT DMT. If you want DMT look elsewhere.

Really?! So, the fact that bufo alvarius venom contains a large percentage of 5meo-dmt has nothing to do with your ownership of the reptile? I find that hard to believe. You own your toad initially as a novelty and possibly as a way to get high.

If you want the toad for its 5meo-dmt content your getting it for novelty's sake. And you're probably paying a premium price for it. So back at ya Kadakudzu. Possibly you don't know the different meanings of the word novelty? New, strange, unusual? A drug producing toad is a novelty.

I wouldn't mind buying one of these toads to care for, just to say i have one. We all already have DMT in our brains, why not have a pet that contains 5-MeO-DMT? I'd love it more than my dog

HaHa. Right on bro. I think the point I was trying to make is that 5meo-dmt is NOT the same as dmt. If you wan't dmt get psychotria leaves, or mimosa hostillus root bark, or phalaris grass.

guess i misunderstood you. no i dont own one for its dmt. i care for animals first, thats my passion. i do not stress animals to get high, in any case. plants yes, i do that. i buy animals for the animal.

when someone gets the toad for novelty sake it says to me that they are not willing to take proper care of it, or more accuratly arnt willign to spend much money on it. hope its not the case and it was in fact a misunderstaing. if so im sorry, if not i say it again.
