JEsus christ, you guys know nothing of how buddha ate, or how jesus ate.

The atkins diet is horse shit to be honest, have you ever heard of a raw food diet? Or a fruitarian...or a vegan raw foodist?

Now THOSE are healthy diets, if you follow them correctly.

It is horseshit for carnivores to eat meat?

Please explain? Better yet, do a little research on the subject and then maybe you will not have to explain.

Almost any diet is healthy if you follow it correctly (a mini-tautology). Bill Rodgers, the running marathon superstar who dominated the 1970s, lived on burgers, fries and cokes.

Since we are talking about diets, I want to put in writing what I think really sucks:

Brocolli (or maybe it's "broccoli") tastes like brocolli. It is good for you and is low in calories.

Chocolate tastes like chocolate. It is bad for you and is high in fat.

Where is the justice? I know, this is an age-old lament.

I want to eat what tastes good, which are cheeseburgers, and french fries, and the espresso fudge brownie at Starbucks, and, oh, you know....

Why is it that the very thing that tastes so good is so bad for me?

But now, my real reason for posting, is to say that you don't need to diet. All you have to do is eat right. Oh, and get some exercise.

Chocolate is incredibly low in fat and not at all bad for you.

Ah, but what matters is what kind of "chocolate" we are talking about, right?

Chocolate made with milk isn't so great for you, but pure organic dark chocolate (vegan style) is pretty low fat, pretty damn tasty and generally ok in moderation if you just ignore the addiction factor. Speaking of chocolate i had the best hazelnut chocolate bar tonight. It rocked my socks, I want another.

As for the Atkins diet, eww. How bout eating a good old balanced diet comprised mainly of whole, unprocessed foods. And how about getting exercise to make sure you're actually using that food...? It's really quite a simple thing to eat well, without cutting out entire food groups. At this point I'm reintroducing wild meats to my diet, after 2 years of dairy free vegitarianism (I still ate eggs so I wasn't really a vegan.) The thing is, since I don't hunt or know anyone who does so, wild meat isn't the easiest thing to score. Being against factory farming makes eating flesh a difficult thing to do. Wild salmon is the main thing I can have that I can actually access.

As for cookies, I'll have one of those special ones and a whole plate of the regular kind for later

Water is not bad for you but add phosphoric acid and 40 grams of sugar and that is another story; same for chocolate.

That isn't true at all.  You must be using a different definition of 'diet' than the normal usage.  "The usual food and drink of a person or animal."

I knew a person who only ate spatzles and ketchup.  That was his diet.  Eventually his was hospitalized because he ruined his body and his mind.

Fuck Vegans.  Their diet has little to do with the healthiness of the food they eat.  It's all about their obsession with animals.  :smirk:

A diet sometimes means some kind of program to lose weight.  But a diet really is what we normally eat.  If you eat Burgers, Fries, and Brownies all the time that would be your diet.

As far as taste is concerned our tastes are very adaptable.  We start life with only a taste for our mother's milk (flavored by what she eats).  As we grow, if we have a normal upbringing, we learn to like other foods.  If you were pandered to as a child you won't learn that though.  And many people who only ate what they want end up as very imbalanced individuals.

It might be that you are "carb addicted" and crave those things, a combination of taste and physical addiction.

There are very few things I don't like to eat.  Which is why the Atkins program works so well for me.  Friends of mine, well-meaning friends, who are macrobiotic told me to eat whole grains.  That's fine but those can throw certain people into a coma if they have certain physical needs.

I was a vegetarian for 7 years and loved every minute of it.  But I never pushed it on other people.  That's because I think everyone has a right to put whatever they want in their bodies.  And that's the difference between me and vegans.  They have to TELL you what is good for you and they think you are an some kind of asshole if you eat the poor litty bitty animals.

Fuck that.  Give me a good steak!

And steak is what I eat a lot of on the Aktins program.  I am suffering. :frown:

Oooo... I hate preachin' vegans. They're always such bitches at cookouts... "don't put meat on this side of the grill" "here's the 'vegan' spatula... don't use it on the meat!" "do you know how much hormones are in that hamburger?"

Yep.

I don't think I have ever been preachy about anything.

If I have I shouldn't have. Especially about what people want to put in their body.

The day I quit smoking I won't ever tell someone they need to quit. It's their body.

I'm trying to post a picture, but for some reason the utility at 'My Home' I've been using to upload pics is not there anymore. I guess it has something to do with the server changes lately.

Trying to find another way of posting my pic..

Swami, I got your cookies in the mail today.
The bastard UPS guy threw it in the ditch and the entire package was covered with damp dirt. The contents were in fairly good condition (the ziploc bag contained a hefty amount of Swami Christmas Cookie Crumbs).
The peanut butter cookies are damn good.

BTW, which ones were "special"?
