Lazy People
    #2166331 - 12/07/03 11:40 AM (20 years, 3 months ago)

How do they do it? how does a person stay sane and not kill themselves whilst also being terminally unproductive?

you know who I'm talking about, the bums, the loafs, the lice. They are your friends, your co-workers, your uncles (especially uncle terry) and your cousins.....and maybe even YOU

Maybe its just me, but If I dont have something to work on, something to dedicate all my energy and mind towards, be it a paper for school, a drawing, writing, or exercising --- I feel terrible and I rendered utterly empty by existential angst. Maybe I'm just a work-a-holic, but I cant stand having nothing to do (unless I'm travelling). :noway:

I'm such a bum.
I do have a job, although it's less than legal, but it puts gas in my tank. I just kinda live day-to-day helping who I can along the way. Helping someone for no reward who didnt do jack shit for you fills up that emptyness you're probably feeling. I dunno maybe I'm just fucking insane but I dont mind it one bit. I make plenty of friends along the way just doing what I always have. People don't fuck with me either because I dont ever give 'em a reason to. I'm smart enough to see when someone tries to take advantage of it and to act upon it in as peaceful a manner as possible. Escalation is inevitable but not on such a scale as we usually see today.
So I guess I'm a happy bum then.  :stoned:

yeah, I really wanna take a break after I grad and just live, you know, just get a nice, decent, simple job and relax. Drink Coffee, smoke weed, make love, read a few novels, you know --- the perfect consumer model ---

but, i feel that if i do something like that I wont be able to achieve my goals as fluidly as possible. Hermmmmm. My ultimate goal being: independance. I dont wanna make somebody else rich, I want to be able to sell my skill on the free market, while being able to stay totally mobile and free, working at my own pace.

Once you figure that one out, let the rest of the world in on it, will ya?

theres alot of ways to do it. You can be an artist, a writer, a bussiness consultant, a musician, a journalist, a photographer, a filmmaker, a hitman, a drug dealer, a graphic designer, a lawyer, a prostitute, a jewel thief, a clothing designer, a merchant (i know some people who make biiiiig money by simply transporting goods)

etc etc. You just have to have crazy mad skill in your area of expertice.

Independent truck drivers get paid mad money, Fedex paid an average of 1.29 per mile in 2002, and truckers usually average about 2500-3500 miles per week. Do the math.
BUT, owning your own truck as opposed to working for a company can cost more, having to buy your own gas, and insurance, although companies will still give you gas coupons and stuff like that. But the money is still hella fuckin good.

Maybe they have come to the realization that there just is no point?

No Lie it's kinda comes with gettin older too. 5 years ago I use to eep busy all day any free-time was spent in a gym. I was go gogo.
Then a job change brought about more money with more time off...hmm now what. Well at first the transistion was hard but I'm happy to say that being lazy is a state of mind. If you can rationalize in your mind the "lazyness" then technically your not being lazy
