if you get shot in the head - does your spirit still release from your body?
    #21659072 -

Theres speculation that the pineal gland and a release of DMT in the brain cause the soul to disconnect from the body and enter the universal conscious or what have you

But if your brain gets destroyed before this can happen - does your spirit die?

Just because I am arrogant does not mean I forget my place. It is how I choose to talk. I am not a monk. I am my own path, and I am without influence. Talk to me about my core being before you question my mental stability or life-choices. Chances are, they're only shocking to you because they don't fit your idea of what is.

Any part of your body, including your pineal gland, is not your soul. Your soul is merely bounded to it. The question you should be asking is where your soul goes when you die.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Does your mind observe it's own thoughts/creations??

How can a mind observe while it creates what is being observed?

Lets assume we have a soul. And yes - I am aware that the self isn't the soul - the body and soul are connected. But theory points to the pineal gland connecting the two. If you sever the connection - do you simply release or does something else happen?

"How can a mind observe while it creates what is being observed?"
How would it not, wouldn't that be the whole point of making the observations, so that they can be observed? Your brain can do many things at once, like make your body run, while peeing, while digesting, while filtering and pumping blood, while fighting off bacteria and while thinking as well. Why could it not allow you to be conscious of what you're thinking? The thoughts you are thinking are just getting stored into the memory banks while you think them.

Perhaps that is where the binding is. At any rate, if you die any other way there is no blood flow to the gland and you are released. But that shouldn't really concern you xD When your soul is released into the abzu, will you know where to go or who to call out to??

How about instead of me trying to convince you that we have souls, how about you convince me we don't.

Well you're the one making the claim that we do, so the burden of proof is on you my friend. I see no reason to believe we do, since we have no first hand knowledge of what happens after we die; and there isn't any evidence to support the belief. I have a friend who died from an overdose and was resuscitated; he said it was like passing out.

Lol you're the one questioning my claim(s). If I am not a credible source of information, and your friend is (since your friend is you), then don't even bother questioning me xD you are just wasting your precious time on this earth.

Actually your brain remains active for 5 minutes after death

If you're such a credible source of information why don't you tell me your first hand experience with the soul? Oh wait you probably have none, except your delusional thought processes and possible hallucinations. I'm surprised you are so cynical seeing as that you're such a loose head. I could say there is a teapot orbiting the sun but when making claims like that, or any claim at all, the burden of proof lies upon the person making the claim, not people who question it.

My friend was dead for like 12 minutes before the ambulance got there and resuscitated him. Do i care if you believe me or not? No, but i thought you outta know.

Theres the chance that death is similar to dreams. That is - you get what you beleive - you get whats on your mind

its only possible. There have been correlations with feelings/existences in these states

Personally i believe that your dreams are hallucinations serving some unknown natural purpose, but i don't see how death would be anything like a dream because you no longer have a brain to dream with.

Well we can take the idea that death releases DMT as an example

DMT as a drug is known to alter onces perception of time - allowing them to experience an eternity in 15 minutes

Other drugs are known to alter time

Perhaps once you die, time becomes irreverent, and your brain goes into hyperdrive instantly making tons of connections. Perhaps you "ascend" to the 4th dimension (timelessness, all time at once) within your own mind. Your mind might become the universe that you exist in - moving with its own time although only in a few minutes in this reality

i'm not sure, might wanna know first whether the soul is based on the body or the body on the soul? thoughts and desires come first, and i think those are maybe closer to soul. like if you consistently think even eventually habit urge wise 'im hungry and want many cupcakes and much mcdonalds' every day for a good time youll turn gigantic, or if you think to start getting fitter in some way you can start exercising and in however much time you'll be it, unless you think otherwise to a different way, so i think soul comes first and it would be fine.

body comes secondary i think, i think for souls bodies might be like one of those boxes they have i ncasinos where the fans blow the money all around and you have like 30 seconds or a min to get however much you can to take with you when it's over. like its suddenly over at some point but if you werent just like hahaha and dancing around flailing about you can have somethin cool to take with you,s o the soul should be fine. if body creates soul and is like required for it to do things and leave then i think that's bad news, but i dont think thats the case.

Interesting points

Especially because I indulge in my food fantasies - but I only eat around 1 meal a day - and ever since I changed out outlook on food my body has lost almost 100% of the excess fat I've had and looks a lot better than it did when I WAS eating McDonalds every day

But I didn't REALLY want to eat McDonalds every day. I was just kind doing what my friends were doing

But my belief is that this reality is brought into existence through the entire universal consciousness "dreaming" together - we convince ourselves it's real as a whole, and so it appear real in every aspect. We use our bodies as mediums for our souls (parts of the universal consciousness) to interact with this dream. For the reason its here - I don't know. Perhaps there is something out there aggressive to the universal consciousness and we are hiding in a dream, maybe we are trying to test out own willpower and see if we can wake up. Maybe we are literally just stuck here right now. I don't know.

But the connection to our bodies is one that I don't feel can be taken lightly. What if theres a part of our consciousness that binds to our pineal gland, and destroying the pineal gland without releasing the soul causes it to never release, or just stop existing.
