I don't like tea though D: Sweet, iced, green. I think its icky. And about the DT's I maybe feel a little fuzzy right now. Vision is kind of blurry. I'm sweating a LITTLE more than usual but nothing excessive. I cant tell if these symptoms are DTs or sleep deprivation though. I'm tired as fuck but can't sleep.. And i typically go to bed at 11PM-12AM and wake at 4:45AM for work. Ive been on a fucking horrible sleeping pattern for months.

Expect a few sleepless nights. They should get better after the first week or so.

Also, expect to get irritable, I see nothing wrong in also stopping the tabacco use, just expect to get irritable. You might get easily angry these upcoming days so I'd keep that n mind too, just remember it's because you are withdrawing. Drink lots of water, and eat very healthily, lots of fruits, vitamins, teas, work out especially to speed up the process. Watch movies, read books, no matter how hard it gets keep ur mind on the activities you are currently doing.

You need to stop smoking cigarettes and get more exercise I'm thinking that's the main reason you can't sleep & are depressed

Then again I was never really addicted to alcohol just a lot of weed and tobacco and exercise definitely makes me feel better when I'm depressed from being sober

Even then you just have some days where you'll feel great and some days where you just feel shitty

That's the way our minds work man like the waves of the ocean up and down for.all of eternity.it's best to face this truth with acceptance and a positive mental attitude instead of trying to hide it with constant intoxication

It's easy to dwell on the.negativity so sometimes you have to force yourself to think positive even when it just seems like an act it will help you

Cigarettes were by far the hardest vice to give up for me cold turkey just made me.constantly dysphoric and hopeless so I switched to vaping ejuice and it worked like a charm waaay healthier and it completely took away the craving for cigarettes that i always had so I think it's worth a shot for you

But bottom line is until you drop the tobacco and all the other addictions that guilt you you'll never be truly happy

Hopefully he's doing okay

I know that feeling of hopelessness and despair he's probably dealing with I think we all know it in some way

Just.know you aren't alone in this OP we all go through cycles of happiness and misery it's the reality of being human and we can either face it head-on or we can use chemicals to hide from it

I say the latter is never a good thing the more you deal with hardship and suffering the stronger you will become and the easier it will be to look on the bright side when things start to feel low

Oh the good ol alcohol wd. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. As sick as it is I kinda enjoy the whole cold night sweats. Waking up with my wife b and pillow case drenched yet fuckin freezing to death. I also learned to enjoy the cold tingling shivers that start at your shoulders and run down your back and arms. Makes me feel alive. Drinking water will make you sweat so will drinking hot beverages, like for nor reason.

IMO the worst part is the anxiety for the first 2 -4 days. Like the smallest fuckin problem you think of facing that day is like hell for your brain. Makes you sweat uncontrollably even if it's fuckin freezing out. And the shaking, like your whole body feels so frail like it's made out of sticks

Give it a week and most of the physical wd symptoms should be gone. Then comes the psychological wd's. That by far is the hardest IMO. Your brain will try to rationalize why it's cool to have just one drink. It's hard to explain but you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when you get there.

Most I  ever been sober in the last 7 years is like 4 months in a row.

Good luck op. It's very possible, you just have to really, really want it.

And heres another question. Obviously my mind is going through enough shock quitting these two substances. I want to quit smoking cigarettes aswell. Start working out and exercising again.. Should I wait a bit or throw all three things down at once? Im scared if I take the cigarettes away it is going to push me over the edge or something. I get irritable as fuck. What do you guys think?

Don't quit the cigarettes now. It may seem like the easiest one to fix, but I suspect it isn't.

keep yourself busy is probably the best way to get through the adjustment you are going through.

Go for walks, man, just do something.  When I quit for probation, it was like a whole new high being sober and clear headed.  As for the girl, mating's tough, man, but if you guys were made for each other, you'd be together, eh?  Don't think about it as competition or you're not 'good' enough, just that it didn't take.
