Six more years of not kissing Bellicheck's rings...

The problem with Rex as a coach is that it seems his offensive strategy is "stay out of my way".  He wants his defense to win games.  He has shown a deep mistrust of the quarterback position.  Granted he hasn't had any all pro's at qb in New York, he certainly made no effort to get the most out of the guys he had there.  I believe the head coach / qb relationship to be the most vital in all of football.  Look at how John Harbaugh believes in Flacco.  Going for it on fourth down three times against New England last night and converting all of them with passing plays, on of which was a deep bomb down the right sideline.  Harbaugh goes on record saying Flacco is the best qb in the NFl and treats him thusly.  That's a big deal and it almost paid huge dividends last night. 

Rex on the other hand does not nourish that relationship, so it's a problem, especially since Buffalo has no quarterback. 

The thing that concerns me as a Jets fan is the number of defensive free agents the team has right now, including Mo Wilkerson and David Harris.  The Jets don't even have a GM right now, so Rex may raid the vault.  Also, it's been reported that Rex will bring Dennis Thurman along as d coordinator. 

Things just got real.

Those rumors have fizzled.  Currently Dan Quinn is viewed as the Jets number one prospect.  But if the music has stopped, and Quinn is not available, things could get real bad real fast.

As far as staying away from the Patriots, Ryan loves going up against the big dogs.  He's probably excited about it.

Another team without a QB for Rex.  And not likely to get one anytime soon, either.

The problem with the Jets offense was not the play calling.  It was the players.

They've fucked the rules so much that it is very very difficult to consistently win without an effective thrower

that was a large part throwing interceptions getting sacked just out of field goal range in close games overall inconsistency

morningweig pissed me off to no end though

one example a 2 point conversion where he called some terrible floater short pass play when ivory is average like 10 yards per carry they lost in overtime later

calling a timeout as the kicker made a game winning field goal

one week he called 95% runs plays not even one fucking play action

another week 95% passes

i could go on but ive been busy purging the terrible memory that is this season

must have seen 20 dropped easy interceptions..

He's fine if he has players.  If he doesn't he sucks.  This is true of every coach in the league.  Some can do more with less than others and some can shit up a good thing but the vast majority of the difference is the players you have to work with.

The Bills do not have a first round pick this draft.:picard:
