I see nobody is giving the Seahawks a chance in this one. I hope you're all wrong. Remember, the Bears have their own set of problems. I call it Seattle by a field goal. RR

I think the crucial thing is that our TE play has to be good, if Stevens has a good game, then we have a chance, if not we lose.

Neither hasselbeck nor alexander seem to have come back from their injuries. I hate to say it, but the hawks were playing better with mo morris and seneca wallace. RR

If the Hawks had anyone in the secondary, I'd give them more of a chance, but I think even Wrecks Glassman can manage not throwing three pics to fourth stringers.

yeah i do agree.. bears are going to take this one.. seahawks have nothing and got lucky ass fuck to beat dallas at their own stadium.. even with the 12th man.. unless rex just gift wraps multiple turnovers for TD's.. Chicago will win.

Dont forget the Bears had to go into OT with Tampa Bay(34-31?).... The same Tampa Bay a week later the Hawks faced and won 23-7 .. . I'm of course taking the Seattle Seahawks for the upset. With how awsome the depleted 2ndary played last week to shut down grossman and the WR's this week. I havnt heard any news on Trufants return or not but im wishful. Like i said last week the Hawks are low in the food chain with INT's but if its gonna happen its gonna be against the bears...it has to be...HAVE to win the turnover game and HAVE to watch our horrible special teams. 1 return is expected this week against the hawks but i better not see 2 fuking +.
I loved watching Seneca and Morris(once he got in the groove)but they are second string for a reason and im glad they are back now. I do hope they throw Seneca in as WR again, last year against Carolina i think he had a sick sideline behind the shoulder catch.

I'll go out on a limb and pick the Seahawks in this game.
I think bad Rex might show up and it doesn't look like Lovie Smith is going to pull him quickly. I'm seeing a repeat of that godawful Chiefs game from the Bears side here.

Rex didnt play shitty the entire season, and for the most part.. when he was called upon to win a game.. he did.. the only games he really fucked up were the games after the bears had clinched..
i think rex will be fine and the bears will beat up on a weak seattle team.

I agree.
"Wrecks" Grossman will manage the game and the Bears will win. They are damn hard to put down at Soldier Field.
The winner will go on to to lose to the Saints in the NFC championship game..

I'm going for the Seahawks, even though the Bears have a better chance of winning. I'm hoping that luck helps Seattle out. It still comes down to the Saints no matter what.

im starting to second guess the saints, they have by far the worse secondary that i have seen all season.
ill have to see who wins today before picking them for my superbowl.
Go Bears! (although if seattle wins id have much more confidence in the saints)
my thing with the bears, is that rex is fearless, he will throw the long ball much more often than garcia did last night, and has just as good of recievers as garcia.. bears could potentially shake things up, all depending on the play of rex though.

Seattle wins if they can put 20+ points on the scoreboard I'd say.
Chicago just doesn't have a the offence to get it done IMO.
I took Seattle in a bet with a neighbor but I get 8 points

With any other Quarterback in the history of the league playing, Chicago would have won already. I honestly think Rex Grossman shouldn't even be in this league. He's good sometimes, but sometimes he's just plain stupid.

Bears win, Gould kick OT.
Tank Johnson made up for his inequities with that last play sack in the fourth.

I'm starting to think that way. He couldn't even exploit the two pickup guys in the Seahawks secondary. So, I don't think they will be able to stand up to the Saints. The Saints just need a good solid offense, and it will be over. That's my opinion, anyways.
EDIT: Rex did manage to screw the secondary over in the beginning, though. They were totally unprepared for that huge TD pass. After that, Rex couldn't do much against them.

Are you kidding? Almot every time they needed points or a big play today he fucked it up.
The defense can only carry a team for so long, and certainly not all the way through the playoffs. They need to be carried on Grossman's limp wristed shoulders if they need to be carried at all.

IMO the secondary of the seahawks is better than the secondary of the saints, did you see how the eagles picked apart their secondary.
im still picking the saints, but idk, im not very confident in my pick.

Basically, who's going to score more, New Orleans offense or the Bears defense? My safe money is on the Saints offense.

we'll have to wait and see, it doesnt do any good for me to keep debating it..
i still want to think about it a little more before i lock in my pick.. i want to look at the weather for next weekend, look at some game stats, and then make my pick.. i know its anal, but as long as SD holds on against NE ill be 7 for 8 in my picks.

i think the surface of the fields and the weather is going to play a bigger role than people think, not to mention home field advantage.
next weekend its supposed to be somewhere between 24-32 degrees, compared to New Orleans where its been in the upper 60's, low 70's.
playing on turf and sod are completely different and will really take away the speed of the saints offense.

ha.. limp wristed shoulders? if grossman has anything, it is a gun for an arm now his decision making you can question. but he has plenty of arm.. as you saw by that 60+ yrd TD throw to berrian
and i think grossman wil play even better next week.. now that he got his first playoff win under his belt. he will settle down even more. and if our d plays even a lick better than today, i think we'll squeak out a win.. once again ill pick bears over saints.. by 3

I didn't mean he was weak, just blatantly homosexual
I really don't think Grossman has the reactions and instincts a truly good quarterback has. Probably because he's not a playoff vet, and perhaps in time he can change that, but this isn't the year.
And I didn't really take into effect the cold and home feild for Chicago, so they'll only lose by a little instead of a lot.

REX GROSSMAN, FTW [Re: Infrared]

OMG!
I was on vacation, just flew into Midway yesterday and stayed in the city to watch the game at the Cubby Bear, right by Wrigley Field. It was an absolutely rabid crowd, and I needed to sleep a few hours afterwords. I literally walked in the door 10 minutes ago.
That was an insane game. Seattle played better than I expected them to. Not that I thought it would be a replay of the last shellacking the Bears put on the Seahawks, but I thought we'd win by 14 or so. But man that was intense. I just couldnt bring myself to watch on a few plays, the intensity level was ratcheted up just *that* high.
Thoughts...
Does anyone NOT think Robbie Gould is the best kicker in the league? Pro-Bowl this year in his rookie season, a ROCKET leg, and ice-water in his veins. He was drafted by the Patriots, and I cant believe they let him go. A rare personel slip by Bill Belicheck.
REX GROSSMAN!!!!!!!!!
Hey, you may not like him. He may give me a heart attack if he plays much longer, but do you realize he was the best quarterback playing this weekend!? Look at the stats, he threw for more yards than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, Drew Brees, and Jeff Garcia. I mean...WTF? And he really should have had 2 TD's and NO INT's today. Anyone who watched the game knows what I mean. Rashid Davis dropped a SURE touchdown, and the pick was Moose's fault. But Rex played GOOD.
Also, a graphic they put up before the game. Rex has had more games this season w/ a passer rating over 100 than ANY OTHER QB...Chew on that for awhile.

That said, the defense sucks. I predict McAllister AND Bush go over 100 yards next weekend, and the bears lose by 20.
I hope I'm wrong, but shit....

i have never said rex isnt a good QB.. but unlike madtown, i dont only focus on his good games, ive look at what he has done all season.. and its been a rollercoaster.. 100's and 30's... you never know what kind of game he will throw
all depends how much weed he smokes prior to coming into the stadium

Yeah, I'm a homer for sure...
But hey, everyone has a team or player that they believe in, completely irregardless of logic or that players actual talent. I dont think Rex is the best QB in the league or anything. But I *DO* think that anyone who doesnt see his potential is blatantly not paying attention.
Yes, maybe half his games are bad. But in the ones where he's good, hes not just Trent Dilfer or Marc Bulger good. He's really really good. Like, best QB in the NFL good.
If he can get his head in order and stop having the TERRIBLE games every 3rd week, I think he'll be nearly unstoppable.
On a side note, most people in Chicago would slap me in the head for saying that.
