Reasons The Bears Will Win The Super Bowl
    #6057171 - 09/13/06 01:20 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

1. We have the best rushing attack in the league. Thomas Jones rushed for 1300 yards last year. Only Bear to rush for more? Walter Fucking Payton. And our back up is Cedric Benson, 2004 college Player of the Year and second in Texas rushing yards only to Ricky Williams, and the 6th leading rusher in NCAA HISTORY. And that was with teams 100% confident that we would rush every down. Everyone knew Orton couldnt throw and put 8 guys in the box. If Jones doesnt rush for more yards this year, I'll be shocked.

2. Everyone says Rex Grossman this, Rex Grossman that. FUCK REX GROSSMAN. We won 11 games last year with Kyle Orton. Do you realize how BAD Kyle Orton was? He was the WORST quarterback I've seen in my entire life. It was painful to watch. We dont need Peyton Manning. We need a servicable QB who can throw the ball. Say what you want about Sexy Rexy, but he can throw a beautiful deep ball. Ask one of those rookie Packers corners. He doesnt need to complete 20 passes a game, but just the threat of it is enough to keep a defense back. 11 games won with Kyle Orton....Think about that.

3. First off, the Division sucks. Nobody is any good. Contrary to what Banez/OHS says, the Packers will not win the Super Bowl. I'm sorry, they fucking suck. Even Redstorm admits this, and he's a packers fan. The Viqueens are the only semblance of a decent team. They probably have the best QB in the division, but honestly, do you think they're better than the Bears? No. The Bears are winning the division, thats a complete given. I dont think anyone argues this fact, do they?

4. So we're in the playoffs. TJ is the leading rusher in Bears history, Rex puts up respectable numbers. Who do we face? We wont have to play the first round, just like last year. Who are we going to play? The Panthers? The Seahawks?

4.a. I'm least worried about the Panthers. Assuming you MAKE the play-offs, you cant beat us again. Get this through your head, REX GROSSMAN PUT UP 21 POINTS AGAINST YOU IN HIS SECOND GAME OF THE SEASON And your THAT confident about your D? What happened to them? Did they disappear? The Bears coaching staff made a mistake last year. They looked at the first gamea gainst the Panthers where Steve Smith was a total non-factor. WE SHUT HIM DOWN. They assumed Tillman could do the same thing again in the playoffs, and he didnt. He got burned. Steve Smith beat Chicago, not the Panthers. The rest of your team is shit. I guarantee you Smith will not see single coverage again against the bears. Guaranteed. And your vaunted defense, as I said already, got 21 points put on it by an essentially rookie QB. Your fucking doomed.

4.b. Analysis of other teams competing for second place in the NFC to come at a later date, I have to go to Physical Hydrology and teach these fucking n00b freshman about water gradients and hydrostatic pressure.

You are forgetting that to win the super bowl you have to beat more than just the shitty NFC teams.

Atlanta had 252 years rushing in Week 1. San Diego had 194. The Giants and Pats both had over 180. The Bears had 109, an average of 3.0 yards per carry.

who cares about the rushing totals from WEEK 1... the bears had nearly 300yrds passing. so whatever  .. usually you cant dominate both rushing and passing every game :smirk:

i dont think the bears have the best rushing attack in the game.. but plenty good to get to the superbowl.. especially with the o-line we got

They'll win the NFC north, but won't make it out of the first round, especially if Grossman continues to be made of glass.

yea, well we finally have a reliable proven backup in ben griese .. so even if grossman has a heart attack and dies.. i still like our chances.. and at the very least i see the bears gettin out of the first round

i dont know why you think they cant even get out of the first round... the defense which was the best in all the nfl last year has only gotten better.. plus we have 2 bonified return men who can break one at any point

ive been watching bears football my entire life.. and when they suck, i admit it... but this team right now has as good of a chance as any team out there

the chargers look like they should be very solid. not to derail this thread from the bears.

but SD is a much better team than Chicago. better in every area.

if you say so....... mr. sports

besides LT and antonio gates, i would take every person on the bears roster over the guys on the chargers... only if you knew anything about anything i would maybe consider some things you say... but alas

phillip rivers,lol

i thought phillip rivers looked pretty good.. he made all the big throws.. didnt turn over the ball.. played smart

and i think chargers have a better defense this year than the bears.

did you watch the chargers play?

Heres the breakdown of the defenses of the Bears and the Chargers, to show that once again, you dont have the faintest clue what your talking about sports wise.

Bears Defensive Line

DE Adawale Ogunleye - PRO BOWL - Sack Leader last year on the Bears, the best D in the league. The year before, he led the NFL in sacks. One of the best ends in football, nobody can argue that. Its simply a fact.

DE Alex Brown - 6 sacks and 46 tackles last year. Solid player. Nto as good as Ogunleye, but he's the second end for a reason.

DT Tommie Harris - PRO BOWL - Regarded by nearly everyone as one of, if not the best tackle in the NFL.

DT Ian Scott - Rated one of the best run stoppers in the league. Solid player

OLB Lance Briggs - PRO BOWL - One of the best young LB's in the league. Urlacher says Briggs is better than him.

MLB Brian Urlacher - PRO BOWL - THE BEST LB in the game of football, hands down.

OLB Hunter Hillenmeyer - Third on the team in tackles, if he was a bit faster, he'd be unstoppable.

Corner - Ricky Manning Jr. - Ask anyone from Carolina how good he was. Big picks at big times. Remember the playoffs against the rams? INT returned for touchdown? That was him. GREAT PICKUP this year. Fuck Charles Tillman

Corner Nathan Vasher - PRO BOWL - I shouldnt even have to tell you how good this guy is.

Safety Mike Brown - PRO BOWL - Again, WTF are you talking about?

Safety Daniel MAnning - Work in Progress, I dont even know if he's any good yet.

Compare this to the unit the chargers trot out every year.

DE Luis Castillo - ADMITTED STEROID USER. 5 SACKS IN HIS CAREER. Are you kidding?

DE Igor Olshansky - have you EVER heard of this guy? His claim to fame is setting the bench press record at the NFL combine. 4 SACKS IN HIS CAREER

Jamal Williams - I will admit, Williams is a stud.

And you already admit the bears secondary is better, right? So I dont need to break down that for you? BOTH our ends have more sacks LAST YEAR than either of yours have career, COMBINED.

That the Chargers D is better than the bears is a completely retarded statement to make. You held the RAIDERS scoreless. I bet my school team, the Badgers, could hold the fucking raiders scoreless.

Okay. Last week, Carson Palmer threw for 127 yards. Byron Leftwich threw for almost TWICE as many. So, by your estimation, The Jags have a FAR superior passing game, right? Thats a stupid statement to make.

Thomas Jones rushed for 1300 yards despite missing several games. at 90 yards a game, thats another 200, roughly, right? So call it 1500. The leading rusher in the league rushed for a little over 1800.

Now, Shaun Alexander had Hasselback as his QB. I think Hasselback sucks, but he can throw the ball. So nobody can stack the line against him, they have to spread it out. TJ had 8 guys in the box EVERY SINGLE PLAY. They KNEW we couldnt throw.

If the Bears dont end up having a rushing offense that ranks in the top 2 or 3 in the league, I'd be shocked. Theres no possible way we cant be better.

No, I'm just saying you listing a bunch of players being THE BEST doesn't make them a lock to win a championship.
