DMT vs. Salvia: which makes u feel like your dying?

Ok I have been reading some DMT reports and some people say they get the feeling that they are dying on a very intense trip. I have never smoked DMT before but am planning on it in the near future. I have smoked Salvia quite a few times and the first time I smoked it I had a crazy trip and thought I was dying and had actually died. Are the chances that I had this feeling on Salvia mean i will have them on DMT also? Salvia is the only drug I have done that I have had a bad experience with, and i have done shrooms, cid, K, DXM, etc etc so its not a common thing for me or anything.

salvia and dmt are extremly different, thats about all you can say about them. sure both have made people feel like they "died" but thats about all they have in common. dmt is a lot less harsh and dumbfounding than salvia.

salvia didn't make me feel like I was dying per se, but I was told that I was weak and thus far incapable of traversing the dimensions with the advanced salvia heros that I met. These beings were made of pure energy/consciousness, and they mocked me for coming into their realm. I did think I was going to be that way forever, but I didn't think of it as a "death," becuase I couldn't remember my "life" as a comparison.

Other than the onset, I find the DMT experience to be one of the most rewarding there is. (Not smoked, but oral with MAOI, that is...) To me, DMT is like walking on clouds, while Salvia is like swimming underwater.

I got mocked my the salvia beings too. They were laughing at me for being introduced to their control system, and realizing all of reality was a fraud that they controlled, and i was screwed.

I also felt *dead* but wasnt aware i had a life, i was just an energy of knowing/seeing/being observing this catastrophic rip in the layering of reality, and the truth was revealed to me. I had no intention of being, the understanding of *the way things are* was just transfused into my head.

during my first breakthrough, i felt their presence, and the fallacy of "reality" but that was it.
then lady salvia took me away to a more profound and comforting place.
i love her.

the first time i got off on salvia, i thought that i might be dying... in part, because of an experience of a temporary amnesia - i didn't remember having had just smoked the plant matter, i didn't even know that i was on drugs... didn't know much of anything, in fact, other than something incredibly odd was happening.... was quite relieved when 30 seconds or so later, when my memories came back to me, and was just tripping.
have had a handful experiences with salvia, ranging from sacred to really bizarre, yet none of them have been nearly as rewarding as the dmt trips.
dmt is so delightful, archaic, rhythmic, raunchy, lucious, halarious, calming, yet exhilirating, it simply brings out some of the best states of altered consciousness you can ask for. though i'm a pussycat, i hardly muster up courage for a "flash" experience described by McKenna, have only done that a few times, a little more than half that suites me just fine.

Yes. I was told that I was too "weak" to learn anymore until something changes. After I realized what my "weakness" was the lessons continued. BTW< this was the musrhoom spirit. Sorry to stay from the subject. Later.However, It all makes you feel like your dying. Except maybe reefer, it makes me feel alive.

interesting, perhaps these salvia beings actually do have some true existance. On one of my salvinorin crystal trips i came into contact with two demi-god like creatures with fiery red eyes and black energy whips. they also mocked me and i stood up trying to run, only to fall into a cactus (i was camping).

ive heard that DMT is like watching the clouds over head clear and the sun shine through while salvia is more like being drug into a swamp and left for dead.

Meh, take it or leave it

Your brain releases DMT at the moment you die. I'm pretty sure that's the basis for the movie 21 grams. Terrence McKenna said that DMT offers the most insight into death and afterlife of any of the psychedelic drugs he tried (which is a lot). Take that for what it's worth.

this isn't exactly true. the pineal gland does produce DMT, all the time, but is surrounded by some chemicals that break down the DMT before it can 'enter' your system. if you read DMT: The Spirit Molecule, dr Strassman discusses the possibility that 'extra-ordinary' situations (like OBEs, spiritual "encounters", near-death experiences, etc) might cause these chemicals to stop working, and allow the DMT to directly enter the brain. however, he couldn't prove his hypothesis or anything - but he did test out massive amounts of DMT on people!

the rapid transition a minute after inhaling must be like death.
i you can let go it must be amazing.
I am practicing letting go - not very good yet.

I have done salvia over 300 times and did it twice today already.

Once mushrooms made me feel like I was dying...  I think anything can depending on your scenario.  Sometimes people will think that they are dying or going to die even when they aren't on drugs.

It all depends on your set and setting.  Just take it for what it is, and you know that you WONT die, so just let it be :smile:

without drugs, many people think that ordinary but strong digestive gas pains are a heart attack. (burps and farts and heartburn)

sometimes said person, with such a gas pain, gets so scared of the possibility that he is having a heart attack (or worse), that he gives himself a real heart attack:

- sometimes this misapprehension can be fatal

so eat smartly and stay calm, with or without drugs.

I think spice can let you feel like you're dying for the beginning of it, and good trips are the ones which people just can't remember that specific part.

If you smoke enough so that you feel a body load and vision going blind/over taken, after surviving that I feel like that's what it feels like to die in some way.
