If we didn't want to focus on the negative we wouldn't watch or support that kind of reporting and it would go away. And by supporting it we become part of that violence and negativity.
Well, one thing is, that this might very much depend on where you live. For example, in my countrys TV news, there tend to be like 70%-80% of the stuff pretty negative. I stopped watching it at one point, few years ago. Also because my view on the world shifted. Kinda felt Like Iam losing hope more and more about the whole world (this can be X times worse when you are in depression and to me it seems possible that JC made this opinion somehow, while he was depressed).
I literally had to leave my country and find a job somewhere else. I have gone to Netherlands and there the point of view changed into even more positive than it was ever been. Why? Because here in NL, you find positive things on every step, people act a lot more positively. People literally running to you with parking tickets, because they are leaving earlier than they payed, so they will just give it to you. That was a fucking miracle to me. How could I not be any more positive after that? Even returned the favor few times. So I became a lot more positive aswell. And I probably first tryed mushrooms few months/almost a year after my arrival in NL. So I was already on a way to become more positive and thats when the mushrooms are the best :P (good mindset)
Literally if you say hello to somebody unknown in Slovakia, he is gonna literally kill you with his eyes, you can see how people judge you there and from the first moment have a negative opinion about you. Why? Because there is LOADS of negative stuff in slovakia, politicians corrupted, police everywhere bullying, people stressed, with no money and unhappy and if people are unhappy, they are negative of course and they are gonna literally throw their negativism around. I would almost say that this country is a lost case. Because the negativism is spreading like a disease.
Another thing that I think he had in mind, is that in those news, they often show you the negative things, because they tend to be more interesting for the people (just like you said)
Another thing is, I have noticed A LOT of times news stations making the whole reality looking much worse than it really was.
Especially in my home country: Slovakia There is usually like few car crashes a day and few murders a day, just for an example, they even faked once when there was a river flooded and it was a live footage with a short break, they wanted to show how fast is the water rising, so they decided to move by few meters while they had the short break so it gets more interesting, it definitely doesnt fill you up with anything positive, why would I watch that crap.
And the last thing, Iam not sure if I agree with what you said that people want the negative stuff and thats why we get it, not that it isnt truth, but because I also believe that negative creates more negative.
This might not seem totally related, but I want to say something by this: I remember when I started watching many different conspiracy theories and similar things like that. My view on the world completely changed just by watching and reading that crap and the more negative I seemed (because of reading/watching that), the more I wanted to continue reading/watching. Because one kinda loses hope and simply, when you are sad you are gonna want to watch sad stuff.
After I stopped caring about reading / watching any negative stuff that is usually on TV (some official NEWS and etc..) and stopped caring about reading/watching those conspiracy theories. And started to keep the mind as positive as I could manage, my whole view on the world slowly started changing from hopelessness and "fear", into hope positivism. (Iam generally very optimistic tho). And Iam not saying that I now became ignorant to the world events, but I simply found other sources, where it just doesnt give me absolute hopelessness, but rather somewhat of a balance of both, or that it just doesnt give me such effects. Its easy to put something negative into the news, but can be harder to find positive stuff. So a lot of it comes down on how "quantity oriented" (if thats the correct way to describe) we have became and are becoming, instead of putting some actual effort into making some positive or motivational "announcements/news", atleast just a bit.
From my experience: The whole world changes as one becomes more positive, stop judging others and try to understand them instead, start treating people with respect, start being responsible towards others and towards your environment, and not only when somebody is looking and simply similar things like that. But, one gotta do this without expecting anything back. One is gonna get dissapointed very easily and pretty fast if he starts expecting things. But if one patiently acts like that, the whole world is gonna be sending positive "feedback" back to him. But one really needs to have his eyes open very wide to see those things.
So in my opinion, it very much matters how positive or negative one is, the same will eventually come back to him. (connections, everything basically affects everything)
For another example, to make it simple: The whole idea about how you act towards the world, the world acts back, is much much more noticable on negative things. For example: just be negative to somebody and he will for sure be giving that back to you. There are many examples.
Thats just my opinion, though.
Quote: Icelander said:And that is the way we want things to be. If we, as a general whole, did not want that it would never have started or would soon be gone.
I understand tho, why are you using humanity as a whole, towards this. But then I always start thinking about how many people there are that dont really think for themselves, or arent even able to create their own opinions. How many people who just get influenced so easily. So although I yet didnt completely lost all hope in the WHOLE humanity, I often question if most of them actually even knows whats good for them. So Iam just not sure If I would agree with your opinion of "They do it because everybody wants it" I get that there must be some kind of "conciousness" that is linked between all the people and therefore might suggest that humanity as a whole should know what they need and we will only evolve where that whole conciousness takes us. But still. xD Need to think on that more.
EDIT: Could you say that the "global conciousness" or a "general whole" is always right and that they know what they need?? If there is MOST of the people doing something "bad" (bad from your or mine point of view) does that make them right or correct, because they are the majority? In your opinion? Hmm
Hmm, just thinking that there are often people who disagrees with the majority and try to make a difference there. Dont you think we need something like that? Dont you feel like the global conciousness, maybe needs to get adjusted once in a time? (oh, I guess that anybody who would try to actively affect the conciousness, would be part of the that conciousness, lol...ok, nvm)
Quote: Icelander said:I'm glad JC was helped by his revelation that we are more than our thinking mind but the conclusions he draws from that as it relates to humanity are incorrect imo. The world is very full of violence and negativity. Just because we are not all at war with guns in our hands does not mean we are peaceful and loving and wishing each other well. Not by a long shot.
That kinda makes me think, that a lot of his thoughts/ideas are BIASed by his depression. Because, atleast in my experience, the depression is often created by having worse and worse view of the world. So what I think he wanted to say, is that if you stay positive, the world will also be positive to you.
Just definitely watch the second vid. Thats like 4 years after his dmt experience video. Who knows how much time did he had to process the trip in that first vid. One often comes up with crap if he didnt thought enough.
Iam sure you will find a lot of things to disagree with him in the second video. But it still seems nice and is worth watching. I just get the feeling that after all those 4 years, he seems to have kept the thinking and positivism and even wants to spread the message of that thinking. Iam pretty sure those things can be just learned, no psychedelic trip needed. Especially as he is pretty popular and I would bet he can inspire and motivate a lot of people.
Oh god, I cant stop typing. Really sorry about the wall of text XD
