Jim Carrey and his Eckhart Tolle's teaching experience
    #20750151 -

I was told, that Jim Carrey wasnt talking about a DMT trip, but an Eckhart Tolles teaching and his experience with it.
That youtube channel seems to be full of lies.
So please disregard any claims about him and DMT

Thanks to blankk and deff

Did you know that Jim Carrey had a DMT experience?

Watch his report here (2010):

https://www.youtube.com/v/u4M3wlQK6VI

And what I find interesting, is his speech here later after that (2014):

https://www.youtube.com/v/V80-gPkpH6M

I dont really know how he really was before his experience, but that speech is really nice, positive and motivational. I never thought he is this "high/open" intellectually.

From what I have been reading, he did had some psychological problems like depression and even tried anti-depressants, but then he started "advocating" that anti-depressants are really terrible for long term use (but can be useful short time), because it makes you think that everything is OK (A-Ds tend to override your "something is wrong").
And therefore you will simply not deal with any problems, because you are not gonna think that you got one.

And to me it looks like his DMT trip totally solved this for him and not only that, but it obviously gave him a lot more than just that.
+ He seems to be trying to spread this thinking and he definitely deserves some love for that.

I personally never had DMT trip, but shrooms and once a tiny dose of mescaline. But it totally relates to my first mushroom trip.
Also had trouble with myself (depressions, anxiety and slight delusions) and what mushrooms did, was teaching me how to look at myself and my problems and the world with the eyes of no person (or other person if I choose to) (in other words reduced/destroyed ego view and wider thinking). And thats what gives you the ability to get to know yourself and therefore solve your own problems and work with them.

I will just copy paste my youtube comment actually. ( Its definitely more useful posted here, than on youtube xD )

Quote:
Indeed good thinking he got there.

But I really have to wonder, how much did the DMT experience changed him.

People usually start thinking like that, after such experience.
Mushrooms totally changed me exactly like that.
Well didnt really changed me (you just got to have some things already in you), but helped me open the door and understand myself and the world much better.
Just like a key to your own psyche.
A single experience can do all that with the correct setting, it just wont come all at once, one still processes the experience a LONG TIME after, it can be like a seed that you plant inside your mind.

Those things got real power on human mind. And one really keeps thinking, that more people need to do the same.
Especially when it tells you to realize such things like "self awareness", or shows you that selfish thinking isnt the right way, we are all part of this world and gives much more depth to your thinking. And one starts to love and appreciate the world, himself, others, etc.. because one starts seeing/understanding all the connections, how we are all part of one thing and how we all relate to each other and the world.

And one simply understands, tries to understand and keeps understanding.
And many people get the ability to look at themselves from the eyes of others (or from the eyes of nobody, self awareness) and therefore see what they do wrong or right. And to be able to properly advance intellectually, you NEED to be able to look at yourself, at what you do wrong or right and therefore you can get to know yourself and therefore you can use your negative traits and positive traits in the RIGHT way. (yes, everybody has also negative traits, you can learn about them and use them properly or make an effort on changing them.)

What I really like, is that those things can help you teach yourself how to think for yourself (instead of not thinking and simply taking and using opinions of what is "advertised" to you, said in a simple way, Iam guessing war on drugs is one of MANY examples).
This should be normally taught in schools. They should teach you how to think for yourself. There are still A LOT of countries, where they simply dont teach you how to think and then a lot of people just become the victims of the materialism/marketing/etc.. and a lot of them simply becomes unable to form their own opinions.

I get that this all can be achieved even without any drug experience.
But this really has a great potential and people and governments should recreate their opinions about psychedelics without any BIAS.
(yes, I know this is what we all want, right? xD )

Just think that there is a possibility, that this could actually make a lot of people actually care about earth and it might help stop all that selfish "short-time" thinking (not thinking ahead, in other words caring about environment for future, not just present)
Just think about the hippies and their LSD use, thats somewhat of an example.

But yes, it totally disrupts governments plans. But maybe they should already get the hell out of this "complex" and let us advance further, especially when a lot of seemingly unrelated researches are ALSO stopped because we need to research psychedelics to get there and to get the clues.
It was already proven to be essential for many discoveries.

Funny that psychology and the discovery of serotonin and all the neuro chemistry stuff has been discovered around the times when psychedelics were starting to get more popular (around 1950). A lot of scientists say that it might be thanks to that.

Iam surprised to see a lot of scientists that care about this and that they actually acknowledge that there is spiritual world and simply other things that we dont see with our eyes or barely see. You would be surprised how many scientists dont care/believe in those things and therefore only limit themselves. (It was a lot more like that in the past)

Shouldnt we at least try? Carefully of course, but at least try? Especially when it gets pretty hard finding any negatives about it?

People...please, acknowledge spiritual world, keep your mind open, think for yourself/make your own opinions, see/look at yourself, know yourself, love others and the world and yourself because you can love others only if you know and love yourself.

Thank you for your time, whoever made it to the end of this post, lol
Couldnt stop writing xD

I dont think Iam bringing much news in this topic, but I really felt like sharing here, even if there is an older thread about this already.

Does some of you know how he was acting before that?
Did he really changed? Thats what I would like to know, how greatly it changed him. Especially because I would say that one has to already have some intellect, for the psychedelics to work good, at least in my opinion. (for some people, it isnt very strong experience)

I also wonder, why do the happiest seeming people, very often have a depression problems? :frown:

+
Some things that are worth watching and Iam inspired by or relates:
Movie: Detachment Shows how wrong the most public educational systems are, or how to teach how to think (if thats the right way to say it)

Documentaries:
DMT: The Spirit Molecule
Neurons to Nirvana The Great Medicines
Definitely watch those if you didnt already.

Thanks for reading.
Just throwing thoughts.

Keep thinking.

I didn't watch the second vid because it's late but I have to take issue with JCs statement about what the world wants.  The world wants things to look and be exactly the way they appear to be.  The media is not showing us condensed  amounts of negative violent human actions without us wanting to be fed such stuff.  If we didn't want to focus on the negative we wouldn't watch or support that kind of reporting and it would go away. And by supporting it we become part of that violence and negativity.  And that is the way we want things to be.  If we, as a general whole, did not want that it would never have started or would soon be gone.

I'm glad JC was helped by his revelation that we are more than our thinking mind but the conclusions he draws from that as it relates to humanity  are incorrect imo.  The world is very full of violence and negativity. Just because we are not all at war with guns in our hands does not mean we are peaceful and loving and wishing each other well.  Not by a long shot.

Well, one thing is, that this might very much depend on where you live.
For example, in my countrys TV news, there tend to be like 70%-80% of the stuff pretty negative. I stopped watching it at one point, few years ago. Also because my view on the world shifted. Kinda felt Like Iam losing hope more and more about the whole world (this can be X times worse when you are in depression and to me it seems possible that JC made this opinion somehow, while he was depressed).

I literally had to leave my country and find a job somewhere else.
I have gone to Netherlands and there the point of view changed into even more positive than it was ever been. Why?
Because here in NL, you find positive things on every step, people act a lot more positively. People literally running to you with parking tickets, because they are leaving earlier than they payed, so they will just give it to you. That was a fucking miracle to me. How could I not be any more positive after that? Even returned the favor few times. So I became a lot more positive aswell.
And I probably first tryed mushrooms few months/almost a year after my arrival in NL. So I was already on a way to become more positive and thats when the mushrooms are the best :P (good mindset)

Literally if you say hello to somebody unknown in Slovakia, he is gonna literally kill you with his eyes, you can see how people judge you there and from the first moment have a negative opinion about you. Why?
Because there is LOADS of negative stuff in slovakia, politicians corrupted, police everywhere bullying, people stressed, with no money and unhappy and if people are unhappy, they are negative of course and they are gonna literally throw their negativism around.
I would almost say that this country is a lost case. Because the negativism is spreading like a disease.

Another thing that I think he had in mind, is that in those news, they often show you the negative things, because they tend to be more interesting for the people (just like you said)

Another thing is, I have noticed A LOT of times news stations making the whole reality looking much worse than it really was.

Especially in my home country: Slovakia
There is usually like few car crashes a day and few murders a day, just for an example, they even faked once when there was a river flooded and it was a live footage with a short break, they wanted to show how fast is the water rising, so they decided to move by few meters while they had the short break so it gets more interesting, it definitely doesnt fill you up with anything positive, why would I watch that crap.

And the last thing, Iam not sure if I agree with what you said that people want the negative stuff and thats why we get it, not that it isnt truth, but because I also believe that negative creates more negative.

This might not seem totally related, but I want to say something by this: I remember when I started watching many different conspiracy theories and similar things like that. My view on the world completely changed just by watching and reading that crap and the more negative I seemed (because of reading/watching that), the more I wanted to continue reading/watching. Because one kinda loses hope and simply, when you are sad you are gonna want to watch sad stuff.

After I stopped caring about reading / watching any negative stuff that is usually on TV (some official NEWS and etc..) and stopped caring about reading/watching those conspiracy theories. And started to keep the mind as positive as I could manage, my whole view on the world slowly started changing from hopelessness and "fear", into hope positivism. (Iam generally very optimistic tho). And Iam not saying that I now became ignorant to the world events, but I simply found other sources, where it just doesnt give me absolute hopelessness, but rather somewhat of a balance of both, or that it just doesnt give me such effects.
Its easy to put something negative into the news, but can be harder to find positive stuff. So a lot of it comes down on how "quantity oriented" (if thats the correct way to describe) we have became and are becoming, instead of putting some actual effort into making some positive or motivational "announcements/news", atleast just a bit.

From my experience:
The whole world changes as one becomes more positive, stop judging others and try to understand them instead, start treating people with respect, start being responsible towards others and towards your environment, and not only when somebody is looking and simply similar things like that.
But, one gotta do this without expecting anything back.
One is gonna get dissapointed very easily and pretty fast if he starts expecting things.
But if one patiently acts like that, the whole world is gonna be sending positive "feedback" back to him. But one really needs to have his eyes open very wide to see those things.

So in my opinion, it very much matters how positive or negative one is, the same will eventually come back to him. (connections, everything basically affects everything)

For another example, to make it simple: The whole idea about how you act towards the world, the world acts back, is much much more noticable
on negative things. For example: just be negative to somebody and he will for sure be giving that back to you. There are many examples.

Thats just my opinion, though.

I understand tho, why are you using humanity as a whole, towards this.
But then I always start thinking about how many people there are that dont really think for themselves, or arent even able to create their own opinions. How many people who just get influenced so easily.
So although I yet didnt completely lost all hope in the WHOLE humanity,
I often question if most of them actually even knows whats good for them. So Iam just not sure If I would agree with your opinion of "They do it because everybody wants it"
I get that there must be some kind of "conciousness" that is linked between all the people and therefore might suggest that humanity as a whole should know what they need and we will only evolve where that whole conciousness takes us.
But still. xD
Need to think on that more.

EDIT: Could you say that the "global conciousness" or a "general whole" is always right and that they know what they need??
If there is MOST of the people doing something "bad" (bad from your or mine point of view) does that make them right or correct, because they are the majority? In your opinion?
Hmm

Hmm, just thinking that there are often people who disagrees with the majority and try to make a difference there.
Dont you think we need something like that?
Dont you feel like the global conciousness, maybe needs to get adjusted once in a time? (oh, I guess that anybody who would try to actively affect the conciousness, would be part of the that conciousness, lol...ok, nvm)

That kinda makes me think, that a lot of his thoughts/ideas are BIASed by his depression. Because, atleast in my experience, the depression is often created by having worse and worse view of the world. So what I think he wanted to say, is that if you stay positive, the world will also be positive to you.

Just definitely watch the second vid. Thats like 4 years after his dmt experience video. Who knows how much time did he had to process the trip in that first vid. One often comes up with crap if he didnt thought enough.

Iam sure you will find a lot of things to disagree with him in the second video. But it still seems nice and is worth watching. I just get the feeling that after all those 4 years, he seems to have kept the thinking and positivism and even wants to spread the message of that thinking. Iam pretty sure those things can be just learned, no psychedelic trip needed. Especially as he is pretty popular and I would bet he can inspire and motivate a lot of people.

Oh god, I cant stop typing.

Well I like to get to the point so I skim walls of text.

You are assuming that a positive view of the world is better than a negative one. Your view becomes even more important if you value truth.  At least consider that depression may be the proper way to view this reality. This has been discussed in at least one thread that is on the boards in this forum right at this moment.  You might want to check it out.

And of course I'm going to drag you into my world view on this and that is one of a man who sees this world through the eyes of his depression.  He is informed by his depression.  However this man also feels great and expansive joy at times. Often more than once per day does he see or feel something that is beautiful to his senses and feelings.  He is also informed by this.  It's not a black and white issue.

But when this man views his own suffering and the suffering of his friends and acquaintances and then the world via the media or books etc. He comes to a conclusion that however much he might love his species (in fact because of it) and the world of culture he sees that there is terrible suffering going on even as he responds to this post continuing at all costs is not worth it.  This is not something I'm guessing about. And a world where this type of suffering happens, even if it were to a relative handful (which it is not) is unacceptable and not worth the joy of the rest.  He concludes that the extinction of his species is the greater good.

Depression is not the wrong way to see.  It is a way and within it is often much beauty and great love for what can never be.  The depressive often flies very high above the ground and their feelings may be of such intensity that in his/her moments of joy they far exceed the norm.

That's my story and for now, I'm stickin to it.

Thats like the exact same way that I have been depressed.
But I wasnt really aware about it much in that time, I kinda blamed the world. I knew I had anxiety and felt down tho. Was hard to talk to people, so isolation followed. Kept gaming.

Quote:
He concludes that the extinction of his species is the greater good.

That is the exact opinion that I had and basically still have, but I guess I got a little bit more hope. (or maybe not, because there just barely seems to be any other way than that, when one looks realistically on it)

But, why bother being depressed and having those views?
You probably arent gonna make it happen any faster, unless you plan some kind of holocaust

The only reason why would you like it, could be that you simply prefer to. (It still seems weird to me though xD )

But yeah, I dont really like being depressed, because of the anxiety that it kept giving me and basically inability to enjoy the time with friends.

Yeah, there were things that made me happy temporarily, but nobody could actually say how much depressed I was, or if I was actually depressed. Iam good at not showing how I feel, especially as I have always been an optimist.

...
There was something else that helped me get better though.
I discovered TV show Battlestar Galactica and started watching it with my father.
I can say, that basically started to open my mind and I started to be a bit more self aware. There is LOADS of good scenes, which totally relate with everyday reality and human psyche and such. I still keep saying that its the best TV show/Movie ever done and is a masterpiece.
Characters are awesome, story is nicely connected and well thought. I never seen any more real CGI xD And its all extremely thought provoking.

Definitely one of the best experiences from it is the character of Gaius Baltar, which is selfish, arrogant, he basically helps destroying the whole humanity not intentionally and he lacks and fakes self awareness. And it shows you the whole journey of how his psyche copes and what it goes through, what he learns and how he gets to know himself and etc.. Its just executed and shown in a really awesome way.

And I got real doubts, if there is gonna ever be anything better than this show xD

I would also say, that this powered my first trip a lot, thats when I became fully self aware :P . And found out that my depression was just a symptom of trouble inside of my psyche. So I realised that and started working with it and with myself.

And I would actually say that both experiences were equally awesome (Mushroom Trip/BSG...one alone wouldnt be as good).
So if anybody didnt watch that yet, you are missing an awesome experience, IMO.

Oh, I would like to ask a question.

When you are depressed and have negative view of the world.

Can you see the world reacts to you in some way?
I say when one is positive, he keeps recieving positive things (example: opportunities, luck, how people act to you, etc..)
Most importantly, it seems to keep the mind in much better state of less unsolvable problems (cant prove that one though).

IMO if one keeps negative view, he basically spreads it around and supports it, and if one even acts negatively to his world, his mind might much easier get into issues that are hard to solve, but yeah that really depends where you stand.

To get the truth, one must look at both positive and negative. There is no real truth in only one of those. And one can keep the positive view and attitude, while considering both + - at individual thoughts, I would say.

I like to think in many layers.

Hmm, that vid seems to be from 2009, while his DMT trip seems to be at 2010 (not completely sure if thats when he experienced it though)

I wonder if he maybe changed his opinion on that one.
Or just his thoughts, right now.

EDIT: oh wait, my bad at not watching it properly...I actually dont have a single thing against what they were saying. Their message is actually trying to make people think about it, which is never bad. They are just provoking thoughts. I get that a lot of people might take this message wrong, but that might not have happened if people were actually taught how to think at the first place. Are you saying its wrong to give a bit of thought on the vaccination of your own children? Is it wrong to think about it and learn more?

oh, and...are there seriously 30 fucking vaccinations done per children in america? D:
