protect an outdoor patch from an early freeze?
    #2052166 - 10/29/03 12:32 AM (18 years, 1 month ago)

I sucessfully removed sod from a pastuere in Chehalis and transplanted it in my backyard garden in Kent. The sod was full of Liberty caps. Much to my suprise they came back this year once the temperatures started 2 drop. Now I hear it may freeze Thurs. or Fri. My patch is 10' long by 4' deep. Is it possible to insulate this some how to protect it from a one or two nite freeze. and keep it fruiting a while longer?

We use blankets to cover our punkins and garden stuff that will freeze. It werks fer that. But I'm not sure if it would werk fer shrooms, I don't see why not. Maybe every fer feet try to prop it up every fer inchs.

even black visqueen will help
visqueen with straw under it is even better, and will help hold in moisture withouth it freezing.

I live in Kentucky,USA and i have outdoor Koh samui on Nov. 10 th.I pile the leaves that fell and water heavily cause the fall has low humidity. If the temps bounce back you get big fruit. How can anyone stop the shroom, if it will fruit so far from home.
