I guess my connection is slower than everyone else here.

I can't complain since it's included in my monthly condo fee. So it comes out to being free basically.

you live in the city or suburbs I guess. they don't give a shit about us here in these here rural parts. in fact they almost never show up until a day or two after they say they will. everyone on my road says the same thing about TWC too.

I live in a rural area.

They have a monopoly here too so they could say fuck you, deal with it, and I'd have no where else to go, but they're still helpful.

I got 35 Mbits yesterday, but today I'm only getting 11. They just installed Fios two days ago and it's already only 1/3 what it used to be.

Same situation with me. It's either slow DSL, the crawling speed of dial-up, or the shitty capped slow crappy over priced Satellite. I'll take slow DSL any day.
Also I have the cell phone number of the Century Link guy that works my area, so any problems get taken care of real quick. So that's a nice touch.

We also had a reel-to-reel magnetic tape player that they finally switched for a cassette player in like '99.

Too bad, they should have stuck with the superior system.

I always get Scandinavian and Nordic countries mixed up. Sorry about that.

Can't blame you for it. But note that Switzerland is part of neither group.

Surprisingly, it seems the country of Latvia is also a bit faster than the US.

Latvia has a pretty substantial IT sector these days. It's a sort of Finland 2.0, so to speak.
