Sex is a great relationship ruiner. Perhaps you should just fuck him and then he'll leave ya alone

If you don't want to full-on tell him to fuck off, you may have to let him down incrementally. Start with the pop in. That shit is never cool.  My sister lives just a block away, and I'd say we're pretty close. But we don't do the pop in, and I've known her for over 30 years. Start there.

Tell him you don't like drop in visits and that you find it rude. Which it is, even Lennon had to tell McCartney to fuck off when he kept showing up at the door with a guitar in his hand. They never saw each other again but they were always friends. So just tell him that you don't like drop ins and you prefer people are invited, or explain that you're two different people in two different places in your lives. That's the truth, is it not?

Why didn't you lock your door?

Yes, It's pretty clear I have to tell the truth, there's no way around it. I just want to avoid getting shot.

I've said that I don't like the pop in, but, I think he just chooses to hear what he wants to hear in any given conversation. Anything remotely unsatisfactory is immediately twisted and shrugged off as unimportant or wrong.

This is like some kind of bizarre human puzzle....

Well definitely start by locking the door.  Then never answer it for him.  Problem solved?

And if he does come and won't leave, go outside, close the door, and talk to him out there. Treat him like a Jehova's witness passing out fliers.

I had a friend in high school who would do that kind of stuff. It got to the point where he would walk into the house and start making himself food when I wasn't even there. Eventually I did essentially "break up" with him. I don't remember what I said exactly but it was over the phone.

If you're 100% sure he's straight act all gay and ask if he wants to be your boyfriend. Then when he says no say something like, "why not? are you scared? come on. how about a little sex then?" ...gay it up a bit lol.

This would make me not want to associate myself with someone. A pushy gay guy to a straight guy is like water & fire.

Man up and tell him how you feel. It's another man, not a woman.

Knowing how to end a relationship is something every person needs to know how to do. Here's a good way in this situation:

Like a bandaid. Next time he calls u/comes over, look him eye to eye and tell him sorry dude you're cool but just not the type of person I like to hang out with. He'll call u a fag, asshole, whatever. Just remain calm and reiterate yourself, don't get all excited like he does. That will make him your enemy, you want to be Switzerland. Tell him 5-6 times u aren't interested in hanging out together till he gets it and hangs up. If he asks why tell him what u told us, just fundamental differences in the ways we think.

I've done it before with persistent people, it sucks, the guy I did it to threw a huge guilt trip on me but that was way better than having to deal with him when I knew I didn't want to

I will definitely be locking my door from now on! Could be problem solved... but, like I said, I'm in the middle of nowhere, if my truck is here, it's a pretty clear sign that I'm here as well...

So what is he going to do, break into your house?

Next time he comes around just step outside and say "hey, sorry, I have plans, I'm about to leave".  Do that a handful of times and he'll get the message.

I do think you should probably confront him, but if you don't want to do that then my solution should work unless he's actually THAT oblivious.

Yeah that leaving the house thing is one thing I did when I was in that situation.

You don't need some big, dramatic breakup. Just let him know when he's being annoying and don't hang out when you don't want to.

He says something stupid,
you tell him you think it's stupid.

He enters your house,
you tell him to leave.

He stops over,
you ask him wtf he wouldn't call first.

He calls,
you don't answer.

That's how he'll get the picture.

It sounds like you have a real hard time asserting yourself.

I've been side steppin' this guy for like a year, it doesn't work.

Hahah, this did cross my mind. But.. in a small town, this would backfire on me big time.

Great advice, I think I'll just do this and hope for the best.

I have done this, many times, everything on that list!

Everyone needs to understand that this is an extreme case.

I'm such an asshole to him, that it makes me hate him even more, knowing that he would want to be friends with such a huge asshole.
