blojo i see what u mean by the twistyness of stems signaling vert.  didn't think about that, but i've also seen weird fruit shapes from cakes that are clean, they seem to just be twisty sometimes.  maybe u r right and it is vert.  MMM, u will know within a week if it is, because it will likely contaminate the rest of that cake and others around it b/c the spray nozzle blows the spores everywhere, they thrive on warm moist environment.  SGFC are better at keeping vert at bay b/c of all the holes and constant FAE.  a mono is like a prison for vert, it doesn't let it out.  I'm slowly learning all this as i deal with vert in past 2 weeks more than i ever have.

Yeah my other cakes are starting to look similar, but I'm going to let them fruit.anyway lol since they are fruiting and still edible.  I have almost finished drying them in my dehydrator, can I crush them and put them in a mason jar in a cabinet for storage of 6 months? I don't have silica gel or anything and my environment is 80-99% humidity usually 75-90f outside..

weird lip, but that stem looks healthy, making me think its not vert, or if it is, then just the beginning stages. i dunno tho, like i said, i have only been dealing with vert recently, but when it gets two of ur mono's u get to see a lot of fruits with different appearances due to vert contam.  i hope its not vert

if i have time later, i will take a pic of two tubs with vert i have.  one is completely affected, the other is just started to get affected, so i upped the FAE a lot, and its doing a pretty good job (for an enclosed mono) at keeping the vert at bay.  the one that it has spread everywhere is obvious, u will know when u see it.  fruits are growing, no doubt, but their growth is not healthy looking.

Is that a stain? These were supposed to all be cambodian but maybe there was a mix up? Or some cambodian and some KSSS? My other ones from the same syringe and we're perfect specimens, but idk how the whole MS genetics works lol

It works like this.....take 10 different vendors' varieties and fruit them right next to each other.

Leave then unlabled and you will not be able to tell them apart.

The names these vendors give to certain groups of spores is somewhat of marketing gimic.

Most of the info they provide about them is too, aside from their place of origin.

Everytime 2 spores germinate and meet, they create a unique set of genetics.

There are millions of spores in each syringe, which will yield about a billion different types of genetics.

There is no way to predict what you will get just by the name of the variety, it will always vary.

There is no way to tell a GT apart from a cambodian, or a mazatapec from a B+, or a z strain from a columbian.

The only exceptions are albinos and the PE varieties.....sometimes KSSS.

:whathesaid:
never fruited KSSS yet (its colonizing coir now) but the pics i have seen are larger caps compared to height of stem, and fat stems.  PE and KSSS are the only two cubes i have seen that look different, besides albinos.

I think if you place your light so it doesn't reflect off the perlite as much they will straighten out a bit.

Upon further inspection those curvy ones are actually burrowing back into its own stem(stipe) at a full circle, should I chop them off? There stem(stipe)s are cracked open..
