I would like to see the structure and some data already collected on TAK-063 to make an i9nformed decision. Based on that I would or wouldnt.

A drug like that would suck bollocks for me to take dail;y because MXE is my D.O.C and this drug probably completely blocks all that I want it for.

Uh guys you do fucking ketamine anyway and DXM + other drugs / drug cocktails, and you're worried about what looks like a few doses of a future short-acting antipsychotic that must have already been tested on mice etc. is going to do to your brain?

You guys have probably already caused a lot of changes/damage to the brain in your drug use careers.

Go do the test then they might find a better antipsychotic than the ones available and millions of people might have their nightmare, depressed, shitty, faggot schizophrenic lives improved.

And you get to be high again so yeah.

The drug is being developed for Schizophrenia, Autism and Depression and has a novel target. Its a risk but imagine that its a good drug, how many people with very difficult and often disabling mental states would be helped by it.

Who says someone with schizophrenia can't make coherent posts, I have schizophrenia and I am quite articulate when it comes to most subject matter, and yes, it's quite severe.

As someone else mentioned, there are probably mounds of animal data supporting the basic safety of this drug.  In addition, there are probably at least some safety data in humans available. The drug would have to be characterized by itself before giving it in combination with a different drug.

But yeah I'd do it. If u get serououlsy harmed someone who loves you can provably sue the balls off them and get a butt load of money.

When I was really sick I was basically incoherent, but 30% of treated schizophrenia leads to zero symptoms. It's usually the 30% or near enough talking to you over the internet. The negative symptoms are what usually persist not the delusions, you can be quite coherent and convincingly normal with these symptoms such as amotivation, zero emotion and depersonalisation, in many situations. Obviously one situation is the internet where you're just a paragraph of text. At a party you'd stick out like a sore thumb though.

My apologies, I meant no offense. I know quite a few schitzophrenics whom I'm very close too.

It's a disease I'm very familiar with.

My sister is a perfect example of an extremely articulate schitzophrenic, she could fool anyone into believing she doesn't have a problem.

Anyways, is this even a reasonable test for schizophrenia? I don't know how these schizophrenia drugs work but i would have thought the mechanisms would be far too specific to just apply it to ketamine.

For a small, Phase 2 pilot study I think a ketamine model of schizophrenia is decent.  The company may actually be looking for something other than efficacy, but its hard to know without more info.

Well, they're just going to change the name of the drug when they release it, if it ever does get released. It depends on what type of drug you're testing. I would NEVER join the test for a SCHIZOPHRENIA drug. Those drugs can destroy your CNS neurotransmitters and fry them permanently. And if it was for a cancer drug, you'd have to have cancer. It's not safe.
