Sex with the mentally handicapped.

A mentally handicapped person is no more mentally prepared for sex than a child, nor will they ever be.

It seems unfair that they should go through life without every experiencing sexual satisfaction.

Is it wrong?

It seems unfair that I should have to wear clothes when I go to the city.

I used to date a nurse that lived with a mentally handicapped woman as a caregiver. The handicapped woman was given a time released birth control drug that was implanted under the skin or in the muscle tissue in the arm. The implant lasted for five years. Handicapped or not, she had a boyfriend (who was also mentally handicapped) and I am pretty sure she was 'active' as well.

I am not mentally handicapped, or wish to to have sex with someone that is, I don't know anyone that is and I don't feel like mangling with a quite complex issue such as this... I'll just say that the concept of right or wrong is also in the eye of the beholder....

I saw some guy at the mall with a downs syndrome girl, he was holding her hand, and he bought her some popcorn chicken. The whole thing seemed a little sleazy, but it got me thinking.

I don't think it's wrong...as long is it REALLY is consensual. Also I think the level of retardation is a factor, if the person is capable of making decisions or not. My question is sex with midgets....is THAT wrong?

I think what u're asking is an excellent question and
a very complex issue...
I havn't thought about it enuff and I doubt I could come
up with any useful suggestions even if I did...
I think too often mentally handicapped people are treated
pretty badly (in regards to judgement - they are controlled
so that we can keep our normal society running, and
any kind of judgement on their part is considered to be impaired).
It's kinda sad and scary, cause any one of us could become mentally
handicapped. Just imagine no one believing a word u say and
giving u the "sure, sure" attitude n avoiding u like the plague...
wish I could suggest something regarding your original
question, but I have no idea...

There is the slight difference between most mentally handicapped people and children and that is that children are specifically desired because of their youth, not so much for their psychological immaturity. this might seem like too easy an answer, but i would think that most handicapped people who would want to have sex are the kind more prepared to have it. most that i've known, the thought wouldnt seem to enter their head.

There are laws in most states that are written specifically to protect the mentally handicapped from sexual exploitation or abuse by non-mentally handicapped people. However, there are instances when Down's Syndrome couples have met, and have wished to marry. I do not know the outcome of such tabloid-type news, but I've met any number of Down's Syndrome people whose childlike trust and simple kindness could teach a lot of arrogant intellectuals a major spiritual lesson. BTW, I know from individuals who have worked in institutions with mentally handicapped (formerly called retarded) that masturbation is always the thrill of the day, so they are certainly not without sexual release, and obviously not any different in that regard than the rest of us.

Why are you posting this kind of thinking on the S&P forum anyway? It's difficult to take this as a serious concern - the tragic sexual deficiencies of the mentally handicapped - story at 10. Wuz up wit dat?
