Gotta get The Anthology of American Folk Music. The earliest recordings (some as early as 1892, IIRC) of such stuff.

Buell Kazee is one of my favorites:

I've heard a lot of the Anthology recordings, there's a lot though.

Buell Kazee sounds a lot like Doc Boggs, very similar. They were born within 2 years of eachother Virginia and Kentucky, wonder how their styles crossed so much

hellll yeah.

and last banger the one that ends all time with the rhyme so finnne

what a dime

DAMN
some real shit on the mic
i would recommend copping Hieroglyphics "Full Circle Tour Live" cause the beats are illin and the lyricism and power and street strength in these voices is unheard of in anything else i've listened to

oh and From Oakland to Shaolin, a collaboration between Hieroglyphics and Wu Tang, unforgettable album for me and i just found it recently
Peace
