i've been asking alot of my deadhead friends this question recently...i feel their answers are stupid though..so i'm gonna ask you since you obviously like the song alot.

What is the song about? what's it's main message? what does it mean?

I realize it can be taken many different ways, but what do you think it's about and what does it mean to you? I love the lyrics but i can't be sure about my outlook on it's lyrical meaning.

oh......in all my readings on the dead and Hunter i have never read an explanation of what ripple was about....I do know that he wrote it in France (I believe) after drinking some wine. as with many of his songs you have to draw your own conclusions.
