I've definitely downloaded multiple terabytes of media since I started torrenting about 8 years ago. Use TPB and isohunt than demonoid, occasionally megaupload, etc. Now I'm on what.cd. I've never had a warning or anything.

older ones, that are more worth it then the next shitty RHCP album.

i can get albums that are out of print and or so old you have to import it from fucking Spain, in FLAC or Lossless. so why wouldn't i?

even variable bitrate, it's still not as good as FLAC.

i like www.din.org.uk and their setup... you can pay an allotted amount, (and then some if you want to support the sales further) for the physical copy to be delivered AND THEN the FLAC'S or MP3's along with it.

artists should just do that on a myspace band page, or something... it's much more profitable and alot less stupid.

I've never had an issue.

I've downloaded roughly 1000 songs off of Soulseek(see signature) and haven't had a problem yet.

I just recently started using it though, so maybe I'll see said warnings in the future.

A warning?

I would have loved a fucking warning. A warning would have been awesome.

You know what I got? A letter stating that the 50megs I get are now going to be 30megs for the same price. And trying to cancel and re-attach won't work. I'd have to pay for the 50 If I want 30. I cannot go higher than 30 with this company.

Fuck pirating. Pay for yer shit, or pay for a lot of internet you don't get.

Rent the goddamn movies on Amazon for 2.99, or redbox, or netflix.

Want music? Subscribe to some unlimited music shit.

All of the music I have acquired the last couple years has been bought and paid for. Most of the music
Im trying to get now is music I have lost over time and most of  which I already previously paid for.

Is demonoid back up? I know there  is a beta for a new one? I forget what its called.

If you're looking for something try typing rar. or blogspot after it.
I don't think it's a good idea doing either but torrents are probably even less safe.
The WIPO is gonna come knocking on your door :lmafo:

A lot of times people index music links in blogs. File search engines use .rar a lot.
Direct download stuff. mediafire, rapidshare, depositfile, mega, rapidgator, putlocker, gorillavid ect.
As far as I know they've only started trying to get torrent users.

The part about the WIPO - World Intellectual Property Organization was suppose to be a cheap joke.

funny thing is though, it doesn't matter. it's a scam, and it's bad business.

I assume he was more going for a moral justification rather than a legal one.

Spotify seems pretty cool. I could never get the idea of buying mp3 files.

Is PeerGuardian worth using?

My ISP is participating in the Copyright Alert System, but they have no way of alerting me. I don't have an email address through them, and I don't use their DNS servers. Not sure if that makes me immune, but I've never been forced to watch a propaganda video, had my internet slowed to a crawl, or have ever been alerted in any way.

Programs like that do more harm than good. The blocklist is publicly available so anyone who wants to get off the list can do so easily. It also blocks an enormous amount of IP addresses. That means slower downloads for you and every legitimate user who makes it on their list, just for a false sense of security.

Never got a single warning OP. Find a good anonymous VPN service that doesn't log and uses shared IPs so your VPN IP isn't tied to you solely, but a large group of people the world over. I download straight from TPB, as well as private sites like TorrentDay, IPTorrents, What.cd, etc.

PrivateInternetAccess has always done right by me, but I feel it's a safe bet that the entire list is reputable.
