Everything looks to just be headed towards stream services....stream games stream movies just pay a monthly fee. At $3.00 a game from redbox for 1 day how can it compete.

I was thinking about this awhile back if they could cut out the cinemas, it might be possible but it's a stretch, however it seems that new release movies are coming out faster than ever before to the home market.

Has the attendance at movie theatres and the purchase of film and music dropped significantly to the point where this is an actual concern??
Or are you just kind of speculating???

Yeah, but at the same time they've been "cracking down" on torrenting sites/users.
Not saying you're wrong...I wouldn't even say I'm disagreeing with you. Just trying to look at it from both sides.
A Captain America film released this year made $180 million on opening weekend.
The total lifetime domestic gross was $408,084,349 + foreign: $744,680,997
= Worldwide: $1,152,765,346
The movie's production budget was $250 mil.

Well any idiot can do it, sure.
The point is, they make billions off of these things.
And I say that not to justify, but to emphasize one thing: if a movie looks and is good, it is going to make money.
It's up to the consumer to decide, and nothing changes that.

I still use Redbox. The quality of blu-ray discs is better than most downloads. It's like $2/movie. If I watch one movie a week its about the cost of Netflix. I agree though, physical media seems to be going the way of the dodo. In some ways, its a bit of a shame we've sacrificed quality for portability.

1080p is good enough for me . I only render video games in 4k.

Yeah. Torrents sometimes compress the audio or fiddle with it to make it smaller for downloading. For me, the audio experience is worth a buck or two.
