slow mycelial growth
    #1786026 - 08/06/03 06:03 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

what am i doing wrong- I have used the pre-steralized bag method for several strains. one of my bags seems to be only moderately heatlthy and I have tried varying temperature (aprrox. 84degrees), adding moisture over several months- there is some growth and no contamination. Is it possibe that the mycelium has been killed in this stage- or is it suspended in growth?

maybe the bag was pre pc'd for too long by accident

were the bags all innoculated from the same syringe/print?

nope-
they were of different type - is it possible the spores are inefective after several months?

Aging definitely is going to have a noticeable effect.

my expert guess is that the bag was bad, not the spores. because u didnt prepare the substrate urself, and im guessing u didnt make the syringe either, its pretty hard to exactly pinpoint ur problem..

my guess is a bad bag, old or not made with the right ratio of grain to water... u can moisten the bag afterwards, but u have to pc the substrate in the presence of moisture to actually get it to draw the water in... which isnt really an option after innoculation

bad bag
