slow/stunted growth
    #2300907 -

A friend of a friend has had a PESA casing (straight verm) going for a couple of weeks. He initinally got a good pinset, and everything seemed to be progressing fine. But now the actual growth of the mushrooms is very slow, and a lot of them seem to be completely stalled, and on the verge of "dying" completely. The casing is sitting on a perlite layer and he fans and mists around 5 times a day, so he doesn't think that low humidity or poor air circulation is an issue. He did have a light sitting right over the casing though (on the glass top of the chamber), and he's thinking he might have given them too much light... if that's even possible. Anyone have any pointers here?

He's got it at 72-76 degress. He uses the same fishtank heater set up as the incubation chamber, only set at a lower temp. Maybe the light made it warmer though

feel the mushroom stems... if theyre firm, the shroomies will grow... if theyre spongy you want to pick em because theyrre aborted... sounds to me like they got too hot...

So cooler is preferable to warmer?
