What would cause slow pin growth besides contamination?

What would cause slow pin growth besides contamination? I have no contamination and i have an excellent pin set on BRF PF-cakes; however they are just growing rather slowly as compared to what faqs suggest to be a 5 day maturing rate?

I have seen no aborts yet. My biggest shroom appear to be 1+1/2 inches so far but growth is slow i have a very large cluster of pins. Been this way for a week with slow growth the blue in one picture is bruising from where i lifted it for these pictures i took yesterday.

lookin good. temperature(75*), humidity(90%RH), and air exchange(i prefer 10-15 times a day) combo. will get em going fast

maybe the cake is dehydrated.....next time dunk em....for now maybe i suggest putting the cake on a bed of wet vermiculite, then coat the bald areas on the top with a small amount of more wet verm

many things could affect pin growth...
Low temperatures, inconsistent temperatures, or the strain.
Some strain mature really slowly, treasure coast is a great example, they mature slower than any other cubie in my friends experience. Also PES Amazonians and Orissa's are slower than average pinners...

could be dehydrated but probably would have been noticed when you picked it up
