It was nice chatting with you guys.

I can't believe a site as big as this would kill off one of the best features because the mods and admins couldn't get their shit in better order.  Everything I could say has already been said though, and it doesn't seem to be doing any good. 

It's just sad that the 'icing on the cake' Ythan referred to was pure bullshit.  I happened to be in the room when SummerDaisies was banned, and despite everything he's said in OTD and apparently in PM to Ythan, he was banned for saying Fuck You to a chat mod after he had already been warned about flaming.  All that crap about being banned because his friend died of an overdose, well, that's ridiculous on the face of it, is it not?  Who and why the fuck would someone ban a user over that??

But again, you guys clearly don't care as long as you don't have to worry about it.  So whatever.  Take care guys.

Totally agree with you dead. It's crazy how it was all taken out of context when we literally had a huge thread with every single ban documented. If any of the admins/mods had come to us with problems like we tried to get them to many times this wouldn't have needed to happen. Unfortunately the attitude seems to be "whatever makes less work for me, the better." :shake:

That's extremely selfish of you.

What you consider to be one of the best features of the site proved to be one of the most problematic for the people that matter most; the site staff.

Being a veteran poster or a supporter doesn't entitle you to anything beyond what Ythan and co. are willing to give you.

The site staff are the people that matter the most? Without everyone else they would have nothing to staff. This attitude that mods/admins are so much more important than regular posters is a problem here, IMO. Mods/Admins are posters first.

No one is acting entitled to anything, but to have a decent community the people in positions of authority should be willing to work through problems and to consider how their populous feels (or else, the people will revolt!:smilingpuppy:).

I'm actually neither of those things, I'm just a lowly chatter.  And I never said I expect anything, I just said it's sad that such a great service can be discarded with barely a bat of an eye because of a technical flaw that could have been fixed.

Ythan and co can do as they please with their website. :shrug: I'm simply pointing out the absurdity of the matter, and I don't appear to be the only one doing so.

They definitely matter the most.

Every single person that is upset about the chat could leave right now and never post again.
Then what?
You would be replaced and this whole thing would be forgotten in a very short amount of time.
The site staff would still be here to admin the site and moderate the people that replaced you though.

The worst thing is that we did all reach out to the forum ops to hear their complaints. We made a forum where chat ops and forum mods could discuss issues and there were several threads asking the forum mods to discuss any issues with us but they simply refused our input at all.

I'm not saying just the chatters are important, I'm saying all the posters are just as important as the mods in reality. If every poster left, the mods would have no site. To say the mods/admins matter the most would suggest that most of the site's content depends on them when they're just here to enforce rules. The site would be fine without them, filled with more bullshit sure but it would still have all the great content it does too.
