TheDeathryder's Full-Auto Greenhouse Build 3

This guide will be done in 2 parts, the greenhouse body, and the humidifier/FAE setup.
PART 1 GREENHOUSE BODY:

This build take a ventilated polymer shelf system, wraps it in 2mil plastic sheeting, uses stick on zippers for the door, and hangs lights on the back. Gorilla Tape is the adhesive of choice since it is strong, easy to work with, and will stand up to humid environments.
The first step is to unroll (but not unfold) your roll of plastic. I used a sharp razor to cut the folded plastic so that I would have a 6' 5" x 9' (estimated measurment, I held up the plastic next to the shelving and made my cut allowing some extra length) section to work with. I then hung the plastic from the top of the shelving system with squares of gorilla tape at each corner, and center point of the top shelf. Once this was acomplished, I used gorilla tape to seal the edge going down the rear right corner (where I started hanging the plastic from) of the shelves. The extra few inches of plastic were taped to the underside of the bottom shelf to help keep the shelve's feet in place when I need to move it.

Next, I capped the greenhouse by taking the other section of plastic that I cut away before and unfold it. I taped one edge to the rear corners and center of the top shelf, then cut away the extra plastic hanging from the front. I then sealed the top just as I sealed the side by taping the edges with gorilla tape.

Once that was finished, I did the same thing for the bottom of the greenhouse, except I only pinned up the plastic instead of sealing it. Sealing it won't hurt anything, I just don't think it will be necessary.

I then applied the stick on zippers. I did one on each edge so that I could follow the pipe that connects the shelves to make sure the zipper stuck well. I then made a cut across the bottom of the plastic between the zippers (this will be the exit for my FAE/humidification system later), then unzipped the zippers to cut between them and make my door.

With this done, I hung my lights. I originally hung the lights with gorilla tape, but the plastic began to stretch, so I cut out the back plastic to replace it with a new sheet, and used a set of brackets to hang the lights. Drill holes in the shelves to match the bolts/machine screws you use.

You can use a second washer on the bracket where it goes through the shelf on the outside of the bracket it you feel it's needed. After I hung the lights, I dropped a few spare screws into the slide holes on the fixture to help keep it from falling off while I move the greenhouse around while I finish it. I also tightened the nuts on the brackets so that there's less wiggle room, and raise the lights higher.
PART 2 BUCKET HUMIDIFIER:

This build uses a bucket, pond foger, 4" duct fan, 4" connector, 4" extension, computer power cable, 2" PVC pipe, PVC 90 degree bends, and pipe repair rings, gorilla glue, and gorilla tape to make a humidity/fae supply system. Before starting the bulk of the construction, I used a drill to put holes in the bucket lid to accommodate the fan and pipes. I also used the gorilla glue to fix the pipe repair rings so that they'll hold a few inches of the pipe in the bucket above the water.
After doing that prep work, I wired the power cable to the fan. I twisted the wires together and taped them well with electrical tape. This is a temporary method until I get some quality wire crimp connectors.

I then took the 4" duct connector, and bent back half of the tabs, inserted it into the hole on the bucket lid I drilled for it, then bent back the other tabs to hold it in place. I then slid the fan on. The duct extension will go on after I can cut one end of the crimps off since they are the same size as the crimps on the fan, and won't slide on. I am currently testing the humidifier without it, and am thinking that this extra piece is not 100% necessary.

I then put the pond foger into the bucket.

I then slid the pipes in, and connected them to the greenhouse with elbow joints and 6" sections of pipe. I used a second elbow at the end of the connection so that the air travels in an upward direction when it exits the pipe. The idea with this is to keep the top shelf from being hit with a direct spray from the side, as well as encourage condensation inside the pipes to flow back into the bucket. None of the connections are permanently attached, so it is simple to remove the pipes for cleaning, as well as refilling the bucket with water.

I hope those lights don't fall on you. Might wanna find a way to screw them into the shelving unit.

They won't, they're very light and run cool. I've hung them in this manner before with no problems at all.

It's gonna house a lot of mushies one of the things I love about the setup I'm running is that the way I'm doing the bucket humidifier and lights, I can piggy back a second greenhouse body behind this one and double my fruiting space.

I got them on Ebay, but the seller also has a direct order website at htgsupply.com The zippers are 80" long, so part of that length is wasted going over the top, but they were considerably cheaper than any others I found. There were several that advertised as cheaper, but wanted to screw you on the shipping.

That's a good idea. I used the same exact kind of plastic but the 4mil. For me it was way cheaper than buying an over-priced store bought greenhouse.

Are you making something like this?

If so, how big is the fan you are installing?

Yes, to be exact, I'm building a scaled down version of the bulk humidifier from the Myco-Tek forums. I'll be using a single disk pond fogger and a 4" duct fan (power is in the neighborhood of 65cfm).

When I first built mine I started with a 4" fan and for me it wasn't enough to provide FAE. I can't be home to fan a lot so my trays were still getting the fuzzy feet

Following this thread.
I prefer those prefab greenhouses on ebay, but your design looks pretty solid
Let's see you build this humidifier
