And yet - extrapolating from a sample size of one is not mathematically possible.

Our universe is so vast that the milky way galaxy alone doesnt even make up 0.0000001% of the total number of galaxys in space. By taking that into consideration our whole solar system isnt even 0.0000001% of our whole galaxy, with all this being said it would seem that life is an inevitable consequence considering that we are here.

How about 0.00000001%?  Seems like you made that statistic up.

Actually, his estimate falls short by two orders. A more accurate estimate is that our galaxy comprises 0.000000001% of the galaxies in the universe because there are at least 100 billion galaxies besides ours.

The probability that there's life elsewhere is pretty near certain. However one of the things known with almost complete certainty is that nothing can exceed the speed of light. Therefore, the same enormous numbers that practically guarantee life exists elsewhere also practically guarantees that it will never be able to travel the enormous distances required to get here.

The Truth is out there...

Just because it would take years to get here from another habitable planet, doesn't mean there life span is the same as ours, maybe theirs is much longer, or shorter.. Who knows, I know it is certain there is life out there, but again, who's to say if they have been here or not.

You make no sense. We're not talking about taking a long time to get here that a creature who lives a long time can do. The majority of the universe is so far that it would take a large fraction of the ENTIRE AGE OF THE UNIVERSE to traverse these distances. No lifespan can be longer than the age of the universe.

And, of course, we have to overlook the facts that it is unlikely 'they' would even know we are here and would have little motivation to expend such enormous amounts of energy for no obvious reason.

Anyways, whatever it would be almost impossible for ETs not to exist.

I think that it's all extrapolated from a Hubble image, it's being applied as if it had been done to the rest of the sky it would produce the same results.  Regardless, I'm sure there's a lot of fucking galaxies out there.  I'm slightly less certain that life is an inevitable consequence of them existing... just more of a high probability.

I think that it's all extrapolated from a Hubble image

The size of the universe and the number of galaxies in the universe has been known through several independent means a hundred years before Hubble. The gravitational effects alone can give us a fair estimate.

Whoa stickler, of course i made it up, I dont know the exact percentage, i was just going by my estimation and my estimation isnt to far off. Im just saying the vastness of space and the fact we are here pretty much proves there are other living being out there.......

The likelihood of ETs existing in the universe does not provide evidence that they visited earth. Notice that the people who claim to see UFOs are never astronomers, physicists, vascular surgeons or electrical engineers [if you catch my drift]. Also the people who claimed to see actual ETs described them as looking like the little dude in the movie ET. But before that movie came out they described them differently. There is a lot of psychological suggestibility going on with this.

The P & S here is for Pedantic and Shallow, no?  I don't think it pretty much proves anything, just makes things more probable.  There might be better evidence out there though.

Thats why i said it pretty much proves it, NOT that it 100% proves it. Saying it makes it more probable is saying basically what i just said and just because i used a percentage means im being pedantic and shallow?........hahaha ok what ever you say, still unsure how anything was so pedantic it makes me shallow. Exaggerate a little eh? Also weren't you the one who tried correcting me on my estimation that apparently was off by a couple zeros?....Sounds pretty p&s to me dude.:laugh:

I was alluding to being pedantic and shallow myself... not you... my point though is that there might be better evidence than "we're here and the universe is fucking huge."  Seems every now and again we come into a meteorite from Mars with water... things like that.

My apologies i thought you were trying to be a dick. There is definitely better evidence, i was just using what i knew to show the probability of there being ETs and this is just my personal opinion, but i think there is already proof ETs have been here from the numerous historical paintings and artifacts that depict ETs or UFOs found all across the planet, not to mention the pyramids.(also are all over our planet) I think ETs are the reason behind many religions. Primitive humans didn't know what amazing things they were seeing so treated them as deities and if one ever came to talk to someone face to face they were known as angels because they didn't know the word alien yet hahahaha:laugh: Pretty far fetched i know, but it does add up for the most part. Not sure if you have seen this but they found a crystal pyramid in the burmuda triangle.Crystal Pyramid

And yet you did! There is nothing hi-tech about placing rocks in a big pile and the paintings you allude to have been covered by Diploid at least 5 times over the years here.

In short, you have been duped by popular and erroneous mythology. :sorry:

Of course there is life other places in the universe. but if they are smart enough to travel from galaxy to galaxy what make you think they would bother with a primitive war like  species such as ours. They would be smart enough to stay the fuck away from us.
