How can people not believe in extraterrestrials?
    #17495647 -

100 billion alien planets fill our galaxy: study

It seems to me that if people don't know there are extraterrestrials that they have a screw loose. To me it seems as backwards as believing in a flat Earth. Given the incontrovertible evidence of ETs visiting the Earth and the billions of Alien planets how can otherwise rational people still hold such primitive notions like there are no ETs or that the Earth is the center of the solar system?

I know they exist. The probe my anus every Sunday at 3:00am and buy me breakfeast.
Not sure what they're hoping to find in my anus but I wish them luck.

I definitely think ETs are likely. But it's a bit of a leap from believing in the likelihood of some form of life on another planet to saying we are being visited by advanced life forms in flying saucers.

For sure its very arrogant to think we are the only living things in the whole universe ,

when i meet someone holding these beliefs i ask them about the fish that live kilometers beneath the sea and whether they beleive we exist or not.

Scientists say there are approx 6 sextillion (1021) planets visible from the Hubble telescope.

I'd be a freak chance that life hasn't occurred somewhere else.

I'm fairly sure Copernicus cleared up the err of geocentric models of the universe back in the 1700s, no rational humans at this point do believe Earth is the center of the solar system...  But incontrovertible evidence of ETs visiting earth :wtf:?  That would be a spaceship showing up in broad fucking daylight and coming down for an interview on CBS, which sure the fuck hasn't happened....  I will concede though that it's certainly probable that there is alien life out there somewhere, but I don't see how "knowing" it is making me more rational.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

I'd be instantly suspicious of anything on CBS. What about UFO formations buzzing DC and stuff?

I think anyone who denies the evidence has an agenda or is so feeble minded they are being duped by those with the agenda.

It seems to me that if people don't know there are extraterrestrials that they have a screw loose.

Practically no one disbelieves in extraterrestrials.

What skeptics disbelieve is that they're visiting us. And the people with a screw loose are the ones who think an unknown light can only be an alien visitor. That's called schizophrenia. Especially given that EVERY SINGLE OBSERVATION that has been explained was either a hoax or a mistake. The rest remain unknown and could be anything.

The formation of life seems quite likely, but when it comes to billions of years of evolution resulting in complex systems like us (or superior to us) the odds begin to get fuzzy. I'm not qualified to comment on the likelihood of intelligent ETs. Flying objects we can't identify doesn't prove anything. Trillions of stars doesn't prove anything.

I do know in light of the fact that society has a pretty solid idea of what aliens look like despite not one shred of proof that we seem to be making shit up.

I neither accept not deny the hypothesis is true. There is some (questionable) logic involved in the hypothesis but that doesn't mean we should jump to conclusions.

I have asked this question countless times with nary an answer. (Not that today will be any different.) Where is the connection from these lights to another star system?

Our universe is so vast that the milky way galaxy alone doesnt even make up 0.0000001% of the total number of galaxys in space. By taking that into consideration our whole solar system isnt even 0.0000001% of our whole galaxy, with all this being said it would seem that life is an inevitable consequence considering that we are here.
