joining a group of people who have all experience something really fucking challenging (pledgeship/ingress) and gotten through it all for a common goal.

being part of something and caring about something larger than myself at a young age.

taught me a lot of good life lessons about responsibility and respect.

the "frat bro" atmosphere hardly even existed at my fraternity, it was/is about something way more. its one of those things you cant understand until youve experienced it.

Most of the frat boys at my school got drunk, got in fights and chased tail.  Ten years later, the few guys I know don't even keep in touch with their brothers anymore.

Glad you had a good experience though.

I pledged a frat but ended up dropping a few days before crossing. Dropping was probably one of the better decisions I made in life.
