I know that he can't, obviously, but he can still have a say in the direction the country goes and he can push for cuts that he wants. Most of Romney's supporters are people who vote straight Republican. None of his supporters know exactly what cuts he wants anyways because he never really says specifics and he flip flops so much that it's hard to say where he stands on the issues.

I would really argue that up until last night (the first debate) the majority of people even paying attention to the race are die hard partisans and politics junkies so we're still a few days away from seeing polling numbers that really reflect the state of the race (places like Gallup which use a rolling model take a few days to show movement in the numbers).

I know all Americans don't agree with me, I'm sorry if I came off that way but I'm very cognizant of that fact. I'm consistently met with opposition on this site alone when I talk about politics and the people on this site align with other views I have that are very counter to what most of America thinks.

One of my problems is that Romney wont give any specifics as to what he plans to do while Obama definitely does give specifics and we've seen his performance anyway. It's not about Romney having a different vision than me, it's about the fact that he doesn't have a vision. He's been constantly contradicting himself throughout this whole campaign and throughout his entire political career and to stop doing that it seems like he's clammed up, probably at the suggestion of his advisers, and wont spill what he wants to do for our country. In the debate last time he was constantly talking about how he's going to do all the good things that Obama has done and none of the bad but he's not giving a realistic plan for how he will make that work. :shrug:

I don't know why you have to be so combative, I'm just having a discussion.

It's not about me wanting free stuff. I have taken on thousands of dollars in loans that I will need to pay back. (which is irrelevant to this thread, but I can tell you feel the need to attack my character) I have literally no money to contribute. When I'm raking in a couple hundred thousand dollars a year I'm going to be donating most of it to my community, charities and scholarship funds. I'm all about giving back. I volunteer instead of working because I'd rather help others than make money.

My intent is to change lots of things, I don't know what you're referring to exactly. I've already had a positive impact on the people I interacted with during all of my volunteer experiences and most of the little money I do have goes towards good causes such as charities around my town. I'll be giving back so that students like me can afford to go to college and hopefully will be able to allow other students to do the same.

I do plan to enact more change than just that but first I'll need to establish some credibility for myself, hence getting the degree and becoming an educated professional.
