I'm getting my plant order ready, and I've come to find out that one of the few that I really want I can't have. It needs to be in hardiness zone 10. Fucking bitches.

Yea, that's what it is. I saw it in a magazine at my grandma's house the other day and thought "Fuck, I need to get some of those". I doubt they'd survive here, but I might try anyhow. That, and some citrus trees.

What kind? I want them all. Lemon, Meyer lemon, orange, and lime. Mostly Meyer lemon, and lime though.

I think it's perennial. The more I read about it, the more it seems I might be able to grow it. I think I'll give it a go.

Well, I can tell you this. Not even our sunny, moderately rainy subtropical weather is enough to keep those things alive all the time. If you live somewhere cold then your chances of doing well with it are probably slim to none.

As for citrus, yeah, that would be solid. I unfortunately had to cut down my gigantic-ass orange tree a few years back because of the citrus canker that was going around.

birds of paradise arent really that eye catching.
the entire plant is dull, takes too much space with its huge
dull boring looking leaves & you only get a few flowering heads at a time. not worth the bullshit.
