Plant & animal extinctions

If they fail to get on board the 'Make-yourself-useful-to-Humans' train, then whose fault is that?

Nope, it's human's fault to ignore the usefulness of those.

An apple falls from a tree, what is responsible for this event: the wind, the tree, or the apple? I say all three and everything else unmentioned.

Well now that that's settled... :nut:

The parameters of the way you've phrased the problem are skewed. You've already excluded the possibility that humans could be at fault by defining the name of the game "it's your responsibility to adapt to humans impact or sorry for you". Sorry for you but that's not the name of the game. :smirk:
The name of the game is evolution and responsibility for failure is much more neutral.
But at least you've let us ponder the logic of "If you fail while playing the 'He's a rapist and he's going to catch you'" game, then it's your fault". :rofl2:

It's my fault, because I think it's the animals fault. :courtjester:

As with any evolutionary pressure, the Natural Law is adapt or die. That is the same whether it is failure to adapt to drier conditions or failure to adapt to incursion by humans.

You don't hear pigeons and cockroaches complaining.

Yes, this is all true. It serves as the explanation for how they become extinct. You didn't comment in the slightest, however, on the part about fault, which was coincidentally the part I was disputing.

The Second Law of Nature is: Protect yourself at all times. :boxing:

Interesting. This is your sole metric for assigning fault for the failure of a species to adapt? The plant is at fault for it's failure to adapt because it should have protected itself at all times?
It would seem then that you neglect the consideration of capacity, an essential prerequisite for responsibility, which is also in itself a prerequisite for being at fault. You'd like to think, perhaps, that any particular individual or species has the capacity of protecting itself at all times from every existent threat?

Once again, by your logic, someone who is raped is at fault, and we should never consider the possibility that the rapist has any responsibility for the act. The first and second law of nature. :smirk:
