How to find an 'open minded' therapist.
    #16848574 -

And don't tell me all therapists are open minded, because I like to take huge amounts of LSD and shrooms in order to explore my subconscious, however I suffer from depression.  I know the root cause of this depression but I do not know how to heal from it, and would like assistance.

How in the FUCK does one find an open minded therapist?

oh, and btw, as i side note, i'm also a criminal.  and do a lot of criminal activities, should i avoid telling my therapist i like to distribute substances for cash? i'm also paying him/her in cash :P

Also for the males.............
do you feel comfortable with female therapists that are easy on the eyes, more?
that's how I find myself...
i'm not sure if this is weird.

I'm also looking for a therapist who has preferably taken psychedelics and/or understands their usage as spiritual methods

Young dudes and foreigners are usually the best therapists.

Ask if they ever tried LSD.

So, looking through my local list of therapist and their email lists, I'm going to go ahead and email them and straight up ask them this?  Alright.  I will.  :awethumb:  no srsly.  I guess i will.

You're going to have to shop around -- probably not going to find the right person on your first try.

If I were in your shoes, I'd begin sending the same message to a load of therapists via e-mail stating that you're looking for the right therapist and are interested in what they think of psychedelics.

Almost all therapists would (rightly) tell you to knock it off with the drugs.

>Criminal
>Depressed
>Uses lots of drugs

I seriously doubt any therapist will approve.

I can't help being a criminal, I just have an intuition for cutting corners and making use of what is available to me.

Sometimes. Or guys like me who still remember 4 way hits and have had more than their share of grief to pay. It is perfectly acceptable to anonymously screen any potential therapist by asking their views and experience in any of these matters. A frumpy middle aged social worker is likely not a good bet. Look for a Psy.D or even a psychiatrist who understands that drugs are often used to the benefit of brain function.

dealing drugs is a criminal activity that, generally, nobody gives a shit about.  seriously, very few people care if you're selling pot or some shit like that.

if your 'cutting corners and making use' is 'fucking robbin and stealin', you probably should just eat a bullet, because that's not 'having an intuition', that's 'being a remorseless predator' and you probably deserve every bad thing that has ever happened to you.

just sayin.

you wanna get your shit straight, first stop victimizing others.

Be gentle about it, I would ask in person gently after talking a bit about yourself. Still the response to this question will give you an excellent indication of where they stand. If they have tried LSD then that shows they have some appreciation, understanding and respect for drug use. If they react with shock/offense/repulsion then you know to find someone else.

My therapist grew up in the Southwest and has more than a few peyote stories.  I'd suggest that if you find a therapist you like and can work with then start seeing them.  As long as you're not going to touch a child or plan to murder someone, then they're not going to do anything about what you tell them.

If I were searching for someone with the criteria you have, I would search for people who were in their late teens or early 20s in the late 60s.  Try to find an old hippy.  They are out there, and a good amount of people still practicing from that age range would have had experience with what you wish to discuss with them.

Just my thoughts.
