I completely understand, honestly. It does irritate me, and it does go through my mind how incompetent most of these guys are; I believe their mental weakness is exactly why they end up doing these things, though. Intelligent people, even the sadistic ones, see the futility of such an undertaking. These guys, on the other hand, are angry, bitter, lonely and sometimes intentionally manipulated individuals.

Antidepressants or simple desperation also play a major role in most of these shootings. That's probably why there has yet to be any seriously planned out death dealing. Even the robbery that took place in California was shittily planned and carried out with little or not practice before hand.

Bank robberies are another subject entirely, though.

someone should invent a video game where you are in past real life murder scenarios and you choose to either save as many or kill as many as you can

It wouldn't sell at most stores. They wouldn't even carry it. It would be a great game but I can just picture it getting banned from gamestop, walmart, and every other place. It's only politically correct to kill or save people in war games like battlefield vietnam, battlefield 2. We had a war with them which means they must be evil and we deserve to gloat and relive the carnage. lol

what about grand theft auto? you kill randoms in that. it could just be an online game not one you buy in stores.

I support you 100% OP. I also find it sickening, that thousands of soldiers, or starving children die per year with no recongnition, and then 12 people die in the US and America acts like it is the largest event in history. So sad.

I just don't understand why the guy told law enforcement about his apartment being rigged. If he had a purpose, he would of wanted as many people as he could dead.

But 50+ injured people? Cmon, I could have better aim than that.

I'm just curious on how he got the riot gear.

Am I the only one who enjoys the suffering and thinks about what the shooter did wrong? Thinking about how he could have go a lot more of them. About how he could have made sure none of them got away. Barricaded the exits and used poison gas instead of tear gas. A little phosgene ala world war 1 wouldn't be beyond him as dedicated as he seemed. Instead he went for the store bought non-lethal option. He just used ordinary tear gas. It's disappointing. He could have done so much better.

I don't thin it's just me. Televised military wars are the way most people enjoy their bloodlust. When you see the smart bomb fall on the target and see the little 'poof'. All the people in that target just died. But it's for the good. It's to fight terrorism. Then the torture and murder is ok. As long as it's for a 'cause' rather than for pleasure. It's all the same evil. Hypocrites. And that's why I enjoy it when they're massacred.

you're disconnected from reality.  you're also a snob i think.

Good point with the Grand Theft Auto example. That game made a lot of controversy but never had victims families raising hell over it. Maybe it could be marketable as an online game or something.

I don't like that innocent people got murdered, no. There's no sense of purpose behind it. Targeted murders have more appeal to me.

You're probably correct that I'm disconnected from reality. I am not however a snob. I have a bit of a sadistic streak from time to time but I know hypocrisy when I see it. American are the biggest group of stupid hypocrites there are., And yes, I'm one of them in a lot of ways. I care more about some pimples on my back than I do about this jerk off in Colorado shooting up a theater or a million people with AIDS. It really doesn't affect my lifestyle and so I view it as entertainment. Is it a sign of derangement to know that you're deranged like that? Maybe maybe not. I don't know and don't care. Like I said, it doesn't affect my lifestyle.

Holy crap! I don't feel bad about that or anything but when I see that sometimes I wonder what the hell the maniac was thinking. At least those Russians took some pride in their work, lol.

It the biggest hypocrisy on the planet. USA foreign policy kills millions of people every year but when one theater in the "homeland" gets messed up it's a tragedy beyond belief. The human interest stories are everywhere. But where are the human interest stories about the thousands of war orphans US soldiers made last month? Where are the human interest stories about the poor and hungry right here in the USA? No where. Let's watch the fabulous life of insert movie star here while men and women are gathering scraps of food from dumpsters and don't have a warm place to sleep at nigh. How about all the elderly people that have to choose between which prescription medicine to buy this month because they're too expensive. How about the crackdown on occupy protestors exercising their right to assemble when we allegedly have soldiers abroad fighting to protect our freedom. This country is a cesspool. As long as I have my tv and beer I don't really care though. But I should but I don't. I just laugh at the fools while knowing I'm a fool too.

Edit, He must have little bit of a conscience left from when he was a kid since he told them his apartment was a trap. And I googled the riot gear. It's apparently available for civilian sale. Some rich guys need bullet proof vests or something... but they look really expensive especially for the really cool looking ones.

you're definitely a snob.  you're so narcissistic and enamored with yourself that you take me saying you're disconnected from reality as a compliment.  it's not hypocrisy, you're sense of values is skewed.  you're not just a snob, you're also a brat.

Well now that I think about it, there would probably be hige controversy about not having bullet proof vests available to the public.

How much is riot gear though? I'd love to get me a set up like that.

There's a huge difference between vicariously feeding off fictional gore and embracing real carnage. You're just trying to make your bloodlust "normal".

You can different types / brands of bullet proof vests online, and I got a bio / nuclear gas mask myself off ebay for like $20, though it's Israeli public issued mask so I wouldn't bet my life on it working 100% properly.

I did not take your comment as a compliment but rather as an honest criticism. I'm not usually hot headed and I know myself well. I am probably also narcissistic but I'm not snobbish. It's more like, "I know it's considered wrong I just don't care. That's how I am and I'm fine with it." Most people are self deluded, which is the worst kind of delusion and don't know their own character or even think for themselves. Most of the chatter I hear over lunch at work is regurgitated statements from the front page of the Wall Street Journal or the NY Times. People pretend to be educated but they're not. It's a game and I play it better than anyone. I'm just not deluded about my own actions and I know which thoughts are mine and which are fed to me.
