I'd also like to point out that the court case In Germany that recently got media attention regarding circumcision did not illegalize circumcision for medicinal purposes. Anyone who wants to circumcise their child can still do so. They just cannot do so under a religious pretext. That makes it so much more tyrannical and evil

As far as the jewish issue goes there are jewish groups that oppose circumcision and so we shouldn't let circumcision hide behind religious freedom. Being uncircumcised is compatible with the practice of judaism.

It seems like most males who are circumcised build an emotional aversion to the idea of a foreskin through cultural experiences.

I wouldn't mind if i had been circumcised, but I am glad I wasn't. The foreskin provides protection from abrasion to the head of the penis and increases pleasure as a result of providing lubrication. The foreskin also has a high concentration of nerves.

That being said, having a foreskin does increase the chances of infection, but this can be taken care of with proper washing for the most part.

I personally would prefer that everyone be able to make these types of decisions on their own, but that is just my preferred flavor of morality.

The fact that most circumcised males defend the practice and label having a foreskin as gross leads me to view it as pretty harmless. The emotional trauma many parents inflict on their children outweighs this act IMO.

I'm also glad I wasn't circumcised. In addition to what you said, people rarely mention all the things that can go horribly wrong during a circumcision and leave a man's penis scarred, or worse. With proper hygiene, having a foreskin is in no way worse than being circumcised. To me, the cons of circumcision easily outweigh the pros.

Circumcision is not confined to the realm of religious tradition. if you research it you'll find that there is no consensus among medical experts about the pros and cons of male circumcision.

i was talking about how it was abopted amoung the jews.

the earliest records we have of circumcision are from ancient egypt.

The idea that circumcision prevents STI's is not substantiated.

even if it were it does not give one the right to perform it on a non-consenting individual.

interest groups have claimed all sorts of outlandish benefits to circumcision for ages and ages to try and excuse their immoral behaviour.

Children cannot consent to anything as a matter of law.  You're argument in that regard is absurd.  Your other arguments are less absurd but that one is nonsense.

I ask that you consider not circumcising him at birth and allowing him to decide for himself when he reaches the age of 18 if he wants to be circumcised or not. All females born in the USA have the legal right to decide for themselves whether or not they want to be circumcised once they reach 18. Would a future son of yours deserve to have the same right as them?

If I was 18 and uncircumcised i probably wouldn't want to go through the pain of it, thus I wouldn't get it. Id rather have the procedure done to my child before his brain developed the capacity for memory. I guess it comes down to preference of the individual, but still, as a father I would have to choose what I think is best for my kid, and I think circumcision is.

As for the female circumcision procedure, I think the female vaj is fine the way it is, wouldnt change a thing. When I think of female circumcision I usually think of removing the clitoris, or somehow removing the parts of a womans anatomy that allow them to feel pleasure. I dont think this is how female circumcision works in the US, but regardless, I am not fucking with my daughters vaj.

Regardless of all of this argument: I have reached a point in my life where my thoughts don't all revolve around my penis. I don't care to be brooding because my dad made a decision to chop some INSIGNIFICANT foreskin off of my pecker. There are much bigger fish to fry in life, like self growth and discovery, etc... If I seriously cared about this stuff so much that I spent my days seeking restoration treatment, I've got way bigger problems than circumcision.

Its fucking skin dude. my penis works better than fine. girls love it. im happy with the way things worked out, and im happier that my dad made the decision to circumcise me at birth. BTW he made the decision to get it as an adult, and apparently it was a fucking awful experience for him.
