back in the early 70's, my sis dated this dude from germany who was the mechanic at the VW/porsche shop here.  He had this fucking little VW bug that would rip ass on just about anything that ran against it.  :rofl2:

yeah they handle like a motherfucker. Mine is faster than fuck accelerating when you slam down and the turbo spools up and kicks in
But the real money is on the highway. That thing WANTS to cruise at about 80 or above, it really does not like going 60.
And the 60-whatever acceleration is fucking insane. These things were definitely built for the Autobahn.


That's it, I'm getting the smoked lights.

No doubt I would like to have a charcoal gray 1.8t that would be sweet. It would be awesome to smoke someone who thought he was a badass in a bug its gonna be my sleeper. The new Beets look pretty sweet with the longer hood dont know about the handling or anything.

They cost the same to fix, LOL.  I swear, I put 2x the amount of money into the car just to keep it running than I paid for it (although I bought it cheap due to a family friend feeling bad about my last car that was totaled, again not my fault), but bam, the moment I get everything from the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, new pistons, and a whole new fucking engine, shit gets totaled.  That car would have gone another 8 years without a single major flaw and I got fucked.  Of course, insurance only pays you for part prices, and not labor, which is usually most of the cost for all of it.

Definitely, once I start raking in dough, all I'm gonna drive is Audi.  I've always been into cars, although never driven any extremly high end ones except for a Rolls Royce, but Mercedes, Lexus, Jaguar, Mazda, all of those can't even compare to my 8 year old Audi lol.

Is your engine bay tight as shit and covered with those plastic shields?

Knew a guy who had a black gti.  Kinda ricey but im sure his tastes wouldve evolved after completing his UTI career.

I def like the smokes more than those others you posted.  Ill never get rid of mine.  Theyre stock 03-05 eclipse tails buuut the 00-02s have all red lamp covers.  Mine has red reflector, red brake lens and a yellow turn sig lens.  You can see that shit from so far away im suprised they dont make all turn signals yellow.  Thats the main reason i wont change em.

Had to change my headlamp(well i didnt but since someone fucked my hood/bumper up in my driveway and left scene, i figured id squeeze a lamp out of my insurance) and its like night and day now.  Just have to save fornthe other....so pretty.

instead of replacing the lights have you tried detailing them? or buffing them out?

like with something like this?

if you know of a good detail shop they will be able to do it for you (better than with the kit)

but that should clean those things up real nice.

Yeah, those pics are after buffing the fuck out of them with lens restore stuff / 3 hours of manual labor sanding them with wet paper, I think 600 and 1200 and 1600 grit or some shit, and then a final polishing

They look better than they did before, believe it or not. But yeah they are fucked. It's the insides of them that are worse.
plus when we went to replace the bulbs, the red part broke off on part of the housing, so now there is some white, which is technically illegal. So they need to be replaced anyway

@runningfox2002  - my engine bay is tight as shit indeed, and did have some shields, but I took the main cover off the top of the engine. I can snap a pic in a second.

Those are for Golf / GTI ... mines a GLI.. I don't think they would fit

It's got 100k miles on it now. When I got it 2 1/2 years ago it had 60k. I drive the fuck out of this thing.

Honestly, I removed my stock ones and spent about 4 or 5 hours with high grit sandpaper on a sander with hobby shop tint and they turned out just as good as any pro stuff.  There are plenty of good guides up there that if you follow to the T and aren't a tard, you're good (kind of like growing mushies).  I removed the Audi and the A4q tags and just left the logo, black rims, 35% tints (slightly illegal), with silver paint.

Got pulled over all the time for "illegal turns" just so they could pull me over, but rarely got a ticket.  I think the only "deserved" ticket was a speeding ticket.  All I had to do was go to court here and there and the cops would never show up because I would always have the tapes in hand when pleaing with the DA and said "Well, if you can't do anything for me I'll take it to court" and they would either drop it there, or make me sit 5 hours waiting for the last possible docket in case the cop showed up :lolsy:
