quick question...

Can I get charged with open container if I have an open bottle in the back of my pickup...where it is physically impossible to reach it while driving? Just wondering before I set out on this 3 hour drive home for easter...

I think that is one of those things that would vary from cop to cop.

True. But it's not worth risking having to explain why you got sent to the drunk tank to your whole family. I just thought there might be a loophole if the alc was literally in the bed of your truck.

Also, if you can't reach the alcohol, and it's open, why not just toss it before you make the drive?

If you have many or something, just put them in a garbage bag, and say it's for returns.

I'm pretty sure the open container thing only applies to bottles inside... not in the trunk or back of a truck... otherwise it would mean that once you open a bottle of liquor there's no way to legally transport it.

remember, cops can now illegaly, legally for them, illegaly to the constitution search you whole entire body, and asshole if needed for any type of crime.. whether it be getting pulled over for speed or stop sign

It varies from state to state but here's Texas:

It might depend in what state you're in. I've taken
Alcohol Awareness classes as a teen, and I remember
the instructor saying that it's fine to have a alcoholic
beverage that isn't in reach of the passenger and driver.
