Smoking weed for asthma or shortness of breath

So I have allergy asthma and its been acting since my girl and I got a new cat a
couple months ago. Anyways at night before I go to sleep my lungs tighten up on
me and I get a little congested and its uncomfortable to breath and I cant sleep.
    But usually in the morning if Im still having issues I find that if I hit my
one hitter my airways seem to "open up" more than they were before. It doesnt
work if I try it at night before I try to sleep tho :confused:

What do you guys think?

I think that smoking weed "opens up" your lungs the same way that cigarettes "relax" people.

I think you should try a vaporizer, like the Vaporblunt, or the Wispr. Is your asthma severe? How long have you had asthma?

I have asthma but there are no allergens that fuck me up.

The only time I have to worry about it is when I get a cold/cough.

Not much I can ever do for myself but suck it up. Smoking may help a little bit, but in the end it just makes things more uncomfortable. I'd get rid of that fucking cat. If you feel anything like I do when my asthma is bothering me.

Marijuana does indeed open up the airways, temporarily alleviating the symptoms of asthma. However, smoking any compound can in the long term worsen asthma. Vaporizing is a better alternative. I would also recommend getting rid of as many allergens as possible (good cleaning regime, optimize interior design for cleaning; e.g. no fluffy carpets).

immune to the allergen of that particular animal anyways...

Not severe just at night when Im about to go to sleep. Breathing becomes
restricted to the point in which I have to "work" to catch normal breaths.
Hard to get to sleep that way..

Yeah I mean my asthma is only bad around cats and not even all cats but
Im not really worried about it. I just hear mixed things about what happens
when people smoke for asthma symptoms. The good thing is I do not smoke that much
and I do keep a pretty tidy living space.

Not common enough to be considered to have medical value whatsoever by my
government thats for sure. I have heard of this before but I wasnt sure and rather

I have asthma and cats are probably the worst allergen for me, followed by dust mites.  Desensitization shots for cat allergies used to be made from cat pelts, but the allergens are actually in cats' saliva.  This means cats' dander is covered in dry cat saliva, so it's everywhere in your home by now.  Does a huge red welt form when you get scratched by a cat?  If you pet a cat for awhile, and then rub your eyes, do they get all itchy and swollen and red?  Then you probably have cat allergy induced asthma.

There is no way that I could ever believe that SMOKING any substance could help an Asthmatic person... I just cannot believe it.  Smoking is pretty well defined to be a bad thang for your lungs.

For most people that's true, but not for everyone.  For instance, allergy shots work for most people but a small percentage of patients don't build more immunity to the allergen.  I took allergy shots weekly (biweekly for 2 years) for a little over 7 years and I could never move past a relatively low dose.

Cannabinoids are bronchodilators, but smoking the plant matter probably wouldn't be good for asthma in the long run with added mucus production.  Vaping would better on your lungs.  That being said, smoking a bowl seems to open up my lungs significantly and I've toked to curb an asthma attack when my inhaler was expired.

Cigarettes fuck my lungs up so bad, but weed doesn't effect em at all unless in a positive way.
It depends on my method though, joints, blunts, or gravity bongs aren't that great on my lungs still not as bad as tobacco though.
When i have a chest cold, i usually take a couple hits and my lungs feel so much more open, especially if it makes me cough that shit out.

The human behavior of smoking evolved out of medical practice.

Smoking herbs for their expectorant properties is nothing new.

I think you should educate yourself first and then go to a doctor or self medicate. Try vaping your weed, smoke is definitely not good for asthma.
