My Doctor is Fucking Insane!!!

I finally found out what the needle was that he gave me. It is an anti psychotic that lasts 2-4 weeks! He fucking lied to me, because I told him I wouldn't take anti psychotics, I hate them. And he told me this was a mood stabilizer, I was so deperessed that day, that I just decided to follow his advice. So I spent yesterday twitching around in my bed with NO sleep and I couldn't do any work at all, I was like a zombie. He gave me another anti psychotic for sleep and that didn't work! I am not delusional and I don't hallucinate. He is just fucking insane, and I am so angry because I am helpless for a long time on this fucking needle. To top it off I was so agitated I was pacing around hitting the ground, and I said something to my mom, and she hit me. The worst part is I need to pass school within 3 weeks, and I don't know if I can on these drugs.

I wouldn't be able to meditate right now. I have to move around or I feel like I am in agony.

Earth Droid I feel your pain,
I had a terrifying experience myself when I wen to the ER and told em I was severely depressed and suicidal (in hopes of seeing a psychiatrist quickly). Those people could drive a regular life-loving fella to jjump off the nearest bridge... it's really sad that the med establishment is this way...

I feel much better now, I got some cogentin for muscle relaxation and I got some benzos to sleep. The side effects aren't as nearly as bad.

Doctors did the same thing to my friend. They lie about medication because they think that you are being paranoid and they think the medication will help you. But people react to medication differently and a lot of times doctors don't even really understand the drugs they are giving you. Pharmaceutical companies push shit on doctors just like coca-cola pushes their shit on the average public. The doctors aren't always as well informed as you think they would be and the companies that sell this shit to them make it sound better than it is. I've heard different versions of this story too many times. Just get a different doctor. Not all of them are this bad. Don't see a psychiatrist either. See a psychologist instead. Psychiatrists are paid to prescribe medication much like doctors. Psychologists can recommend meds, but the prescription has to come from someone else, so they often are not as bad about it.

Stick with the Dr. and tell him you feel resentful to him for not being honest with you. Ask him to tell you why he was not honest about the anti-psychotic (I assume you got an injection of prolixin). Learn to recognize your symptoms (yes, everyone has them..no one is 100 percent mentally healthy) and communicate them to your doctor.

Also, in the long run you will be significantly better off if you take personal responsibility for your growth process. Therapy, social supports, exercize, hobbies, work, play, girlfriends, etc...

Stopping your meds will not help you, especially in the short term.

Yes, I'd recommend getting another doctor too. I don't know the whole background on this, but a good psychiatrist wouldn't lie like that. A good, quality psychiatrist (note, a good one) doesn't need the money from pharmaceutical companies, as they are high in demand. The trick is to find someone who has a through understanding of the body & mind to the point where they can explain, in detail, the different processes of the brain. The other side of that is they understand how to put that knowledge to use. The difference between a good doctor and a bad one can make a world of difference. Psychotherapy can be a tremendously healing process, but it takes someone who really knows what they?re doing.

I?ve had a lot of ?field? experience with lots & lots of psychiatrists and psychologists, and it?s taken me a long time to find someone who worked for me. Of course, the most import thing is what works for you.
