Yeah but this is just a perpetuation of the misconception.

You should correct them instead of letting them continue on not knowing what the fuck they're saying.

Yeah but you know those kinds of people.  You correct them, they silently think you're an asshole, and still don't change their ways.  It's a losing battle
Though I figure someone's trying to get to know me if they're asking a question like that and I don't want to shut them down on something so relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of thangs.
