He was showing the subjectivity of morality and the difference between what both men saw as completely moral action.

Because if monkeys did evolve into us, it makes no sense for their to still be monkeys too

Uh, yeah, and we're currently directly responsible for the continuing extinctions of most large-brained primates, great apes, chimpanzees, ect.

Good point, give it about fifty years and you'll probably be just about right.

I'm not trolling.  We didn't come from monkeys it's just not logical.  I think the best explanation to why we're here is jesus made you and me out of love.

evolution doesnt say we came from monkeys. it says that us and monkeys both come from a common ancestor that there is where we split up

If teaching kids evolution is indoctrination then so is teaching them water is wet at an early age or 2+2=4. Evolution is as much a fact as the air we breathe or gravity. I have personally never seen anything nor heard anything that remotely resembles any other possibility.

Totally this. Seriously, though, no one even HAS evidence to the contrary. And why intelligent design? If who ever designed us had any brains we shouldn't have to poop and I should be able to suck my own dick.

No one ever said that there was 'scientific evidence' for gods existence--you people going around looking for it, or thinking that since there isn't any proof god exists, atheism is the correct choice, are the really foolish ones. you say I don't understand evolution? you all obviously don't understand god. I can simple google 'evolution wiki' and be brought up to '21st century knowledge' but what are you all gonna do??

Quote:
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

And in the midst of the seven candlesticks like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

His head and hairs white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes as a flame of fire;

And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance as the sun shineth in his strength.

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead.

I actually have a really good understanding of DNA.

Proof that DNA was designed by a mind:
(1)DNA is not merely a molecule with a pattern; it is a code, a language, and an information storage mechanism. (2)All codes we know the origin of are created by a conscious mind. (3)Therefore DNA was designed by a mind, and language and information are proof of the action of a Superintelligence.

We can explore five possible conclusions:
1) Humans designed DNA
2)  Aliens designed DNA
3) DNA occurred randomly and spontaneously
4) There must be some undiscovered law of physics that creates information
5) DNA was Designed by a Superintelligence, i.e. God.

(1) requires time travel or infinite generations of humans. (2) could well be true but only pushes the question back in time. (3) may be a remote possibility, but it’s not a scientific explanation in that it doesn’t refer to a systematic, repeatable process. It’s nothing more than an appeal to
luck. (4) could be true but no one can form a testable hypothesis until someone observes a naturally occurring code. So the only systematic explanation that remains is (5), a theological one.

To the extent that scientific reasoning can prove anything, DNA is proof of a designer.

Let's take a look at choice 3.

Are you familiar with the Miller-Urey Experiment? In this experiment, ammino acids (the building blocks for living cells) were synthesized from chemical reactions and electricity. DNA and RNA nucleobases can also be synthesized in a lab. No unseen omnipotent force necessary

... I'm gonna not fear something that nobody can prove or show evidence for, why would I do anything else? You only understand your god. My parents understand theirs, just like Osams Bin Laden understood his.

Why would I bother with your concept of god over theirs? You call me foolish but offer no incentive for why I should bother with any of them.

Ok, I've already explained this about DNA but it seems you guys can't get past your dogma. All instruction, all teaching, all training comes with intent. Someone who writes an instruction manual does so with purpose. Did you know that in every cell of our bodies there exists a very detailed instruction code, much like a miniature computer program? As you may know, a computer program is made up of ones and zeros, like this: 110010101011000. The way they are arranged tell the computer program what to do. The DNA code in each of our cells is very similar. It's made up of four chemicals that scientists abbreviate as A, T, G, and C. These are arranged in the human cell like this: CGTGTGACTCGCTCCTGAT and so on. There are three billion of these letters in every human cell!!

Well, just like you can program your phone to beep for specific reasons, DNA instructs the cell. DNA is a three-billion-lettered program telling the cell to act in a certain way. It is a full instruction manual.

Why is this so amazing? One has to ask... how did this information program wind up in each human cell? These are not just chemicals. These are chemicals that instruct, that code in a very detailed way exactly how the person's body should develop.

Natural, biological causes are completely lacking as an explanation when programmed information is involved. You cannot find instruction, precise information like this, without someone intentionally constructing it. All your examples of DNA creation involve the intention of humans. Show me an example where it happens on its own. That's right you can't.

I understand how you feel though, I was an atheist at one time. And like many atheists, the issue of people believing in God bothered me greatly. What is it about atheists that we would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that we don't believe even exists?! What causes us to do that? When I was an atheist, I attributed my intentions as caring for those poor, delusional people... to help them realize their hope was completely ill-founded. To be honest, I also had another motive. As I challenged those who believed in God, I was deeply curious to see if they could convince me otherwise.

I think the complexity of DNA and biological languages/programming is one manifestation of what people have chosen to call GOD. I think that the universe as a whole is developing as a result of this same force, and think that we are just now starting to suspect we really have NO CLUE what's going on.

I also think I am the least informed of all of you - but that being the case, it doesn't matter.

Sure I have little/no clue what is going on - but I REALLY LIKE IT! (whatever "it" is)

At first there was RNA which was both the hardware and software of primitive life. Later RNA morphed into DNA because of its 2' deoxy carbon which renders the polymer better suited for information storage due to its increased stability. Proteins took over the executive roles.

There were proper conditions on the early earth for the generation of simple organic building blocks. At first carbon monoxide and hydrogen would react on the catalytic surface of deep sea mineral deposits near volcanic vents. The product is long fatty hydrocarbons that were occasionally expelled due to volcanic eruption. The tiny droplets released into the air would gradually evaporate thus condensing and giving rise to the first lipid supramolecular complexes (like bilayers and micelles). At some point an RNA molecule was randomly generated and it had the ability to catalyse its own polymerisation dependent replication.

And so on and on gradually life evolved into what we see today.
