Anyone read any good fiction books (stories) that involve any type of Psychedelics? Or any kind of book they found to be really ineresting or really weird? I'm interested in some new reading. If you've read anything along this criteria please leave the book's name, author and maybe a quick overview so I can get a feel for what it's about. Please, thank you.

I'm reading the sequel to Trainspotting.
It's Porno by Irvine Welsh.

Dune by Frank Herbert is a VERY good read.  It's not for everybody, but in it, the people of wealth and power use the "spice melange" to attain enlightenment.  It (the spice) is also used to fold space, and high doses speed up evolution exponentially. It's the most renowned sci-fi series in the world.  The Frank Herbert series is about 5 or 6 books in all.  I would also recommend seeing the 3 hr David Lynch version of the film (from 1984) first; as it would help you visualize what is going on in the book better.

The Sci-Fi Channel version, from 2000, of the book SUCKS.  Avoid it, if possible.

The Thief of Always, by Clive Barker

"Mr. Hood's Holiday House has stood for a thousand years, welcoming countless children into its embrace. It is a place of miracles, a blissful rounds of treats and seasons, where every childhood whim may be satisfied...

There is a price to be paid, of course, but young Harvey Swick, bored with his life and beguiled by Mr. Hood's wonders, does not stop to consider the consequences. It is only when the House shows it's darker face -- when Harvey discovers the pitiful creatures that dwell in its shadows -- that he comes to doubt Mr. Hood's philanthropy.

The House and its mysterious architect are not about to release their captive without a battle, however. Mr. Hood has ambitious for his new guest, for Harvey's soul burns brighter than any soul he has encountered in a thousand years..."
