Compared to today's standard of horror, violence and gore, that was a huge taboo.. strange.. even though the storyline reads as corny, primitive drivel, humans still haven't evolved much; and that's WITH wasting the amazon forest on printing such crap!

Thanks I ususally use tandori seasoning for the squirrel.

Any suggestions on how to elevate the flavors on such a succulent gamey meat.

Marinade over night in your home special sauce and then into the crock pot for at least 8 hours.

More like Raccoon.

Just kidding. :lol:

Raccoon tastes like beef to me. 

Squirrels taste more like chipmunks.  Mice are pretty good also. Never ate a rat but I would.  Don't like Bobcat at all. Porcupine is pretty good and rattlesnake is very good.  Robins taste really great also.

I've eaten quite a few. Did you know that they used to be a game bird at one time?  Just the breast is worth eating and it's quite delicious.  Wrap them in bacon and set inside half an acorn squash and bake. Yum.  Or if in the backcountry just boil.

Awesome. Thanks, I didn't think that their breast was sufficient enough to kill the thing for.

I might need that one day.

Though I might go for the wild grouse if needed.

I love grouse. I used to hunt them as a kid on my grandparents farm and then the desert ones we have out here. Better than chicken imo.

I live very near Oregons High Desert.  I took survival training out there and spent many many days and weeks on my own with just a twenty two living off the canyons out there. Some of the best times of my life were alone out there for weeks at a time.
