Looks your not such a simpleton after all, since you at least realized that your post "was indeed weak".  But in the future, please try to be more specific (and civil) in presenting a counterargument.  Responding with a page of  :grin:s and/or putting words in someone else's mouth is IMAO just as bad as name calling.  I have answered your ?s about "Amerikkka" and the Swastika flag in an earler post.

Now to get back to the original topic ( i have already posted several responses):  Basically the article is either just another right-wing fringe rant, or else its meant to show how right-wing crackpots view the world.  Either way, its easy to produce examples that defy Barnett's categorization into "core" vs. "gap" states, such as the US and Saudi Arabia.

Sorry to disappoint you;  but i dont fall into any of those categories you just listed, except for having my butt parked in front of the computer  :cool:.  Nor can you (or for that matter, me) claim to have ascertained the existence or nonexistence of an afterlife...

1. I didn't say you fell into either category. I asked you which one you'd rather be in.

2. Neither did I mention an afterlife. I said this life is the only one you will have. I was referring to life on earth. Even if you factor in reincarnation you would be talking about "another" life.

3. I asked you about whether you saw any humor in this and that meaning was clear enough so you ignored it.

Where does that leave us?

It seems you read things that aren't there and don't read things that are.

Interesting.

I suppose this means something but when I figure it out I'll keep it to myself.

I am leary about anything I read in Esquire magazine.  This guy seems to know what he is talking about but I can only judge that from my limited perspective.

I would like to hear a more informed opinion from Pinky on this.

your response does not answer the question. the spelling amerika is from the '60s and the nazi american flag comes from deoxy.org. there's no explanation as to WHY they are used or WHAT they are intended to mean. KKK does not refer to the ku klux klan? is it just there because it looks cool but has no meaning and doesn't refer in anyway to the actual KKK? why did they start spelling it with a K back in the 60's, and why do you spell it like that (but with 3 k's instead) today? why do you use the swastika flag?

i'm just trying to see if you've got any actual reasons behind the use of these symbols. do you?

Every time I've seen the "AmeriKKKa" spelling, it's been by people implying that the US government and the KKK are in cahoots, or something like that. I don't think I've ever heard KKK supporters use that, but maybe they do.
