i have never tried a cigarette nor have i ever wanted to start smoking up until now

one reason is to have something to do besides eat when i smoke weed

i need to lose a drastic amount of weight

another reason is my friends all smoke and i am constantly inhaling second hand smoke anyway

i really want to see how far it can go as an appetite suppressant and stress reliever since weed does neither at this point

whats everyone take on tobacco?

God you're dumb.. smoking will not make you cool.

I recognize that quitting smoking can be difficult, but that doesn't mean it can't be done at ANY moment.

i agree. after smoking for 4 years, i quit cold-turkey over a month ago and it has actually been easy. some people just get sick of it...the smell, the taste, etc.

no kidding. i dont think i've ever known a person that started smoking because they thought it was cool. it sounds like something a follower would do...

I'm going to go ahead and go against the grain, here. Most people would tell you not to smoke, or that it's one of the worst decisions they've ever made. Me? I think it's one of the best decisions I've made. I like being a smoker, it's pretty neat. They rock to pass a bit of time while you're waiting for something, or to have something to do after you take a couple puffs off a fat blunt.

You say marijuana DOESN'T reduce your stress? That's pretty weird, but it worked like that for me for a long, long time, so I can understand where you're coming from. Over a while, it started to change and now I get a very effective anxiolytic effect from cannabis (thank god, the chest burners and anxiety were wearing me down).

My take, though, on tobacco, is that it's the quintessential part in any week-long drug binge, whether it is composed of opiates, hallucinogens, stimulants, or depressants. Go for it. Addiction ain't that bad...

Smoking is generally a bad idea. But don't buy the hype from all the whiny "helpless smokers" out there who would give anything if they could only quit. Any of you people would quit right now if you REALLY WANTED TO. The fact is you still reap enough pleasure from your habit to continue and you haven't created enough of an incentive in your life to quit. Even the fuckers with holes punched in their trachea so they can keep going, even those idiots still have the choice and the ability to quit, but at that point smoking is so entrenched in their lives that their attachment is a real bitch.

People on this forum especially should know what the tools are to quit a habit. You have to disrupt your routine enough that the smoking ritual loses its hold. Try changing your diet, sleep schedule, and the times you choose to smoke for a week then at the end of that week eat some psychadelic. There are plenty of things you can do to get that monkey off your back but you have to be willing to abandon your comfort scheme for a bit. The next time you crave a smoke, wait thirty seconds. If you still crave it, wait thirty seconds. Quit pretending like you're powerless. Can you really not stop a behavior?

telling a smoker to quit smoking
is like telling a fat person to stop eating.

shit sounds alot easier than the actual
reality of the situation.

were you ever addicted to cigarettes?

If you're going to put an addiction monkey on your back, you should at least pick one that's more fun than nicotine. :yesnod:

Hell, if losing weight is what you're after, better meth than nicotine. At least with meth you don't have physical dependence.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

I see no reason for smoking cigs except right now I can get em free.  There dirty, gross, and they have very little effect on the mind and big effects on the body long term.  I can't see my self wasting time smoking in the future because if I have money to spend on cigarettes I could go buy other drugs that make you feel wonderful instead.  If I have anything to do with sigs it will be an e cig filled with rc's.
