I think could go either way, i fan for maybe 5 seconds just to get some fresh air down into the nooks.  I really just enjoyed giving them attention, but i don't think they really needed it much, the air current in the room was probably enough.  Most of the humidity comes from the sub, i just misted heavily mainly to replace the days evaporation.

I havent tested neglect  on any MSG yet but it would probably handle it well.

My understanding is it holds high humidity close to the sub, being beneficial during primordia and pin formation.  With a decent air current in the room the msg is probably fine but a light fanning cant hurt, as the pins mature, they raise the paper, allowing more FAE to the substrate.  I never tried it without a wax paper, though, so i cant really reference a comparison.

The wax paper is crumpled up and then semi straightened out, thus allowing for air to flow freely beneath the paper in the little caverns and crevices created by the crumpling.

The idea behind wax paper is that it creates a micro climate on the surface of the sub thus inducing even pinning

This is tub3, b+ ms.

I was going to take the center cluster last night but i passed out :P
Center cluster was taken this morning and the side clusters were left to develop for another day.

The center mass removed was 1244g wet so this tub has produced so far 1644g wet.  These were cut flush with a scalpel so as not to expose grains in the sub  There is a massive mat of stumps left in the sub.  Most of these stems were solid the last 2 tubs were more hollow.  The super huge early specimens did have hollow stumps.

I'm beginning to wonder if my scale is off?  Does 1244 seem too much for a cluster that size?  Maybe i'll check it later with a known weight.

Here is my Spongi Style giant PF cake...
Mixed grain flour and verm, slightly dry side of "reccomended"
MS PESH (this PESH seems well suited to my abuse lol)
Cake was perfect breadpan size when made... fruiting in dub six quart msgs...
Reptile terrarium moss for moisture, cake elevated on jar lids...
Looks ok :shrug:
