Monotubs kick major ASS!
    #8345937 -

hi all,
and thank you to everyone...

well not everyone hahaha!

Big up's to largedose, shroomy1, oatman, roger rabbit,
roadkill, amanitavirosa, canid, pmenace, and last but not least tahoe!

you guys are tuff on newbs, but ya'll fuckin ROCK!

I think it was all the tuff love, sarcastic nature, that really pushed me in the right direction...

I was messin with cakes for a long while,
just threw a bunch of pints of (brf/verm) spawn into
a tub filled with coco-coir about 3 weeks ago..

Just got my first flush, and goddamn!
I've fallen in love with Mono's an aint lookin back!!!

The fruits are so much denser than when they fruit off cakes IMO...

anyhow, THANKS for everything :mushroom2:

I did cakes, then spawned cakes to little 2 liter tubs of hpoo, then to some bigger tubs. Did quite a few. Then I got grain down and did more smaller trays and then I tried a couple of mono's, 1 straw and 1 coir.

Boy oh boy, all things before seem such a waste of time and effort in comparison. Great ways to learn but high effort to low yield! I got more mush from those 2 monos than all of the months of growing before combined and they are so easy to do in comparison! Monos are certainly low effort, high yield, and the third flush of the coir were the biggest fattest shrooms I've ever seen!

Noobs, save yourself time and money!!!!!
1. Learn how to make grain spawn (inc g2g).
2. Learn how to make a monotub
3. Learn how to pasteurize bulk sub
4. Learn how to make and pasteurize 50/50+ casing.

Job done, thats all you need to know!!!

Equipment required:
- 1 pressure cooker, jars, grain, tyvek, micropore tape, silicon.
- A tub, some polyfill, a black sack
- Some sub (coir, hpoo etc)
- Some casing (Peat and Verm).

Just had a clear out and the amount of things I have and no longer need!!!

The only problem with monotubs is you end up with so many freekin shrooms that you don't need to grow again for a year!!! I think I'll try a mini-mono next!! I don't need any more shrooms but I need to grow Docs Pesa for spore ring prints!!

I know why so many old hands grow gourmet mushrooms now!!.....
